Judging by the posts here, I was tricked into thinking USC would definitely beat UCLA. Score was even misleading....UCLA fumbled inside the ten up 38-14. They beat the shit out of USC
I wasn't going to go and say anything before the game about how much I thought UCLA was going to roll SC, how UCLA had a bye week and two weeks to prepare, and how much deeper UCLA is than SC. I was saving it to rub it people's faces after the game.
Technically yes but UCLA had to finish that drive to score while the pick 6 was a direct score. Just semantics but I'm trying to be right so that counts
UCLA seems to turn it on and off when they want....I was baffled by their play at times after I watched their performance vs Arizona State in a game I thought ASU would win.
I was a little wary of their ranking and it came true unfortunately early on when we struggled but if it weren't for missing a chip shot FG we'd be in the National title conversation at least.
Yes they are. We got beat, flat out. But don't for one second think that a team that suits up 48-52 scholarship players is not hurt by the sanctions. We have zero depth and that crushes teams. The team. particularly the defense, just begins to run out of gas at the end of halves and end of games. Not to mention that we are playing SOOOOO many freshmen, particularly true freshmen. The team needs depth and to think the sanctions have no effect is a joke.
UCLA was the better team in the 1st quarter and 1st half, before depth issues really can overwhelm a game And also, how come no one here mentioned USC might lose cause of these sanctions? It's always an excuse after the fact of a loss. You can't have all these fans be confident and here saying "as long as we contain Hundley it'll be easy" and then say "oh no we lost cause of sanctions" as if you didn't know depth was a problem before the game. If all of you were confident in a USC win regardless of sanctions, then why is it a joke for me to think the team lost cause they lost
No one here said "USCs lack of depth might end up hurting them big this game but if they can stay fresh they can pull it out" Nope. Just mentioned containing Hundley as the key. So if you thought that was more important then sanctions, then its just an easy excuse to use
I always thought it was going to be close, but I've been a fan of this team for years and I'm saying sanctions hurt, no doubt. You're stupid if you think they don't. Not using it as an excuse, just pointing it out. The sanctions will have an effect on this team until 2017, when the classes will become balanced and we have a full roster. The ruins beat us, we got crushed, no doubt.
It sure sounds like an excuse, but Allright. And of course sanctions hurt in a sense of not being able to close out games or come back from deficits But I was saying sanctions wasn't the reason for this loss and you said they are to blame for domination throughout or whatever, but I guess im stupid And what I'm sayings is that "sanctions" always comes up after losses it's never ever come up as a legit reason before games from USC fans. If it was something you all feel so strongly about, you woulda expressed worry about depth in this game before hand. Why didnt anyone worry that depth was gonna kill them this game? I guess stupid. People had great confidence regardless of sanctions so must have not thought it was a big enough deal to let UCLA win Sanctions are gonna hurt USC no doubt but it becomes easy to attack and mock that excuse when every single loss brings the word up in an instant. Every every time.
