I missed the caller as the radio turned on literally as he hung up, but heard the response from the hosts. Was soooo disappointed as I felt in my heart that it had to be Rube who called in.

    Couple things this morning:
    - Something that was brought up in the interview yesterday was Puig who appears to be a close friend of both Turner and Kenley. Puig apparently has taken his trimming up to heart and according to the two, he looked "great" at the wedding. It caused some giggles from the two after they continually said how good he looked. Also it was mentioned that he really is trying to right the ship and will be meeting with a contingent of Dodgers players next week who are trying to get a jump on Spring Training. Let's hope the just turned 26 year old has finally gotten his shit together and can somehow return to the 4-5+ WAR rightfielder we had before.

    - Dustin Nosler of Dodgers Digest says that he was told from his sources that the Dodgers were never willing to offer Alvarez, Buehler or...... Stewart in a deal along with De Leon. Apparently the Dodgers are also not willing to move two MLB ready starters which is a little wild to me since they have Kershaw, Wood, Maeda, Urias, Kazmir, Hill, McCarthy, Ryu, Frias, De Jong, Sborz, Oaks, Stripling and Stewart. You take away one of those guys and you still have a shit ton starting pitchers. The only other thing I can think of is that the FO thinks there may be something special around the corner for Stewart and they feel he is potentially close on refining his slider. IDK, but it seems fishy that it would stall over a guy viewed as a backend starter unless the team truly feels he has more to him than that.

...and of that list of over a dozen pitchers the FUCKTARDS just couldn't see trading one more of them to get the guy to fill the GLARING HOLE in the lineup and take us to the next level? I know, I know... we need depth to cover the mound on the many days the glass made, sore arm bad signings should be pitching? Sorry, but the only insight there is that we're stuck with a whole boardroom full of fucking idiots who don't know what they're doing.

I remember there being a rumor early on that the Dodgers offered a package either around De Leon or Stewart and everyone laughed it off as dumb speculation, but damn that could have been true. A couple things come to mind here:
    - They really feel that both Stewart and De Leon are going to be good... or they really think Stewart is on his way to being special or even better than De Leon.
    - With all those players I listed, they feel they are going to be able to move one of, if not a couple of Kazmir, McCarthy and/or Ryu.
    - One or a couple of those guys like Wood, Frias, McCarthy, Ryu and/or Sborz are on their way to the pen. Maybe Stripling is in that as well as he looked fucking great out of the pen.
    - There was another deal in the works that would have moved more of the pitching depth to address a move for an everyday LF'er or a more sturdy pitcher for the rotation/bullpen.
    - Let's say the miracle of miracles happens and the Dodgers make it through camp and everyone is healthy and the pitching stays as is, MLB is looking Kershaw, Hill, Kazmir, McCarthy and Maeda. You then move Wood(who looked sooo good before getting hurt to the pen with Ryu. Cool. AAA is Urias, De Leon, Stewart, Stripling, Frias. Now you go to AA where it is going to be De Jong, Oaks, Sborz, Buehler(?), Alvarez(?). That's big leaguers starting for your AA affiliate. Depth is good, but man that's a ton spread out when you should be ok moving some of that.

It is one thing to be stingy, but this seems odd on the surface. I'm curious to see the reasoning behind this, if true.

Possibly as simple as them believing they don't have to because the market outlook for Dozier is dry, believing Minny will eventually fold to their only suitor

I'd be ok with losing a trade for Dozier if Stewart becomes good. It's similar to the Hanley trade, as I thought Eovaldi was gonna be really good, but thought getting Hanley at that point was worth having to figure out a rotation spot down the line. Dozier is legit a 3 win upgrade, that's incredibly valuable. Not to mention he'd almost definitely get us back a comp pick in two years, which is how much less valuable than Brock Stewart?

Big time agree. Their stupid hoarding of what if's is about to bite us in the ass....AGAIN! Boston, the team with THREE recent WS wins saw what they had to do and did it in a much bigger way with Moncada. Not filling the gaping hole we have over Brock Stewart is even worse than I ever dreaded.

    FUCKTARDS!!!

guess it depends on one's definition of "mlb ready"
because other than kersh, hill, maeda and [maybe] stripling, you could make an argument that none of them are
alvarez, buehler, de jong, sborz, oaks are all promising, but still a ways away
ryu, wood, kazmir, mehcarthy and frias all need to prove they're healthy/effective
urias, stewart and deleon would [still] be on pitch/innings counts
    idk just sayin
