Yeah, maybe they could neutralize some of that pop by going up in the zone as he's not a big guy and his swing path/strength seems to ride mid-lower part of the zone. 1 AB can mean nothing, or it can mean everything with the way scouting is today..teams are on it. Would be sort of surprised if it's not at least explored going forward
All eyes will be on Walker Buehler and his AA debut Friday at 5:05 pacific. Hopefully we will see the same results from his sting in High A. I'll be watching on Milb.tv which I recommend if you have $50 to spare.
Walker Buehler tonight 4IP's, 6 hits, 2 earned with 3K's and a walk. Fastball command was an issue as usual with him but he showed a pretty good curveball.
Heard from the announcer that he hit 100 a few times yes but he didn't get alot of swing and misses which is understandable since he's moving up in class. I liked the curveball it had good bite to it. All in all it was a pretty good performance and he went a little further than he was going in High A.
Matt Kemp showing a little life. 156 wrc+ thus far. Hopefully he can latch on with an American League team soon and finish out his career somewhat productive. I like the guy.
He is not fat anymore. Question is... is he at least decent in LF again? Does he have some legs back?
i think that's why @THINKBLUE mentioned the al even at his best, kemp was an average defender good arm, but a lot of poor reads and routes
Andrew Toles, before injury, one of the 5 fastest players in MLB, has the range to legitimately handle CF on occasions. A healthy Andrew Toles could probably make it around the basepaths twice before Kemp made it once
Don't think he's one of the fastest 5 in MLB. Off the top of my head Dyson, Buxton, Lindor, Dee, Trea Turner, and Billy Hamilton. I'm sure I am forgetting some.
Mike PetrielloVerified account@mike_petriello If Andrew Toles had played enough to qualify last year, he'd have been in the top 5 of fastest outfielders: http://m.mlb.com/news/article/224864164/statcast-introduces-new-sprint-speed-metric/ I'll allow for IFs Lindor, Trea Turner and Dee..shit, I'll allow for inactives Rickey Henderson, Deion Sanders and Bo Jackson. The point remains the same..a healthy Andrew Toles is a hell of an athlete and very fast, and Matt Kemp is not.
