I haven't been since 2009. What time do you guys recommend getting to the stadium? Should I park in the lot or outside? Any other tips or things to keep in mind? Thanks
First of all, do you have two extra tickets?! Because it's like 110 for the cheapest seats Last year we got there about 2:30 before the game started which was plenty early enough. Parking was no problem but if you don't want to pay you can always park by Catherdral High School and walk up. Or on the other side on that big ass street. if you can't get there that early, buy the parking pass online- apparently they have a new lane just for people who has those passes. And it's cheaper. Check out the website to see which entrances have the lanes.
I suggest two hours early which is when the gates open. I had an apartment close by so we took a cab from downtown which takes a priority lane past the lineup of regular vehicles.and they take you up to the pavilion entrance..
be cautious of parking outside the stadium. There are a few streets that will only allow 2 hour parking this year due to tailgating issues last year. Here is an article indicating which streets. http://www.theeastsiderla.com/2015/...-be-a-game-changer-for-tailgaters-and-locals/ Enjoy the game bro!
I made my only opening day trip in 2004, my former company asked me to go on a site visit to rework some product with known defects. I told the boss I'd go on one condition-that I get a vacation day while there. He didn't get it, but said 'ok' (they were desperate for warm bodies to send to LA.) Immediately got on the web and begged for someone from the ESPN board to get me a ticket, which they did. The message board friends were very hospitable too, getting me rides to and from, and ended up going to the next game thanks to a guy I'll never be able to repay, choice seats too. My only trip to Blue Heaven...and I can still taste the Dodger dog.
fyi @THINKBLUE Dodgers And LAPD Announce Opening Day Regulations by Matthew Moreno | Dodgers Nation — 20 minutes ago Since the grave beating of San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow on Opening Day in 2011, the Los Angeles Dodgers have made more of an effort to create a safe environment at Dodger Stadium. One of the more drastic changes was fans are no longer permitted to tailgate in the lots With Opening Day of the 2015 season only four days away, there’s been plenty of news out of Dodger Stadium, including a dedicated lane of entry into the stadium for those who have purchased in advance, the introduction of metal detectors as part of the screening process and additional food options. Adding to the changes, at least for Opening Day, the LAPD and Dodgers announced fans will not be able to park on the Avenue of the Palms between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday and alcohol won’t be permitted in city parks: Last season, the Dodgers lost to the San Francisco Giants on Opening Day at Chavez Ravine. First pitch against the San Diego Padres is scheduled for 1:10 p.m., with stadium and auto gates opening at 10 a.m.
I am soooo stoked! Got invited to box seats for Opening Day, with free food, drinks and VIP parking for free. My first Opening Day ever! SOOOOO HAPPY Text me TB!
I came to ask this exact question. I'll be there too. I can't wait. I've been literally (ok, my phone did it for me) counting down the days, hours, minutes, and seconds to first pitch! Thanks for all the great info guys.
