I don’t think necessarily as there would still be a hole at 3B. It would just mean that the Dodgers added another MVP caliber bat to the middle of their order... Man, imagine if they got Ozuna AND both Muncy/Bellinger turn things back around. Lineup would not be fun to face.

It goes without saying, but Ozuna would be a hell of an add to our lineup, he's arguably a top-5 hitter in the game. I know his 2020 stats are a bit of an outlier, but based on the eye test his 2020 numbers don't look like a fluke. I honestly wasn't expecting us to be in on Ozuna, seeing as it would blast us over the luxury tax, but I ain't gonna argue against him. Even without a UDH in 2021 I think you can make Ozuna fit in the OF for a year with the expectation that the UDH will be implemented in 2022 (obviously UDH makes him a better fit, but I don't think it's 100% necessary for the first year).

We are a fucking month from when pitchers and catchers usually report, yet we are sitting with 52 of the top 68 Free Agents according to MLBTR still remaining on the open market. This is fucking insane when you also think about guys like Bryant, Contreras, Arenado, Story, Suarez, Castillo, Gray and Benintendi all having their names circulating in trade talks as well. The next month should be an absolute whirlwind of moves, which should be fun as a number of teams(Dodgers included) have a number of holes to fill, but man this has been a bad offseason for baseball. Try to find a way to get your fans excited, not checked out by the middle of March.

I seem to remember hearing somewhere that not playing in the field as much was a huge benefit to him last year. His numbers as a DH were incredible and he was merely just pretty good when he played in the field, but yeah SSS can not be overlooked. For all the funny shit he has done over the years, he is not the worst thing in the world when it comes to his OF defense, somehow. Last year was the first time his UZR was negative and before that he was generally ok in LF. Signing him would bring in a litany of questions in the event the UDH didn't happen, but if there was a miracle where we signed him and Turner with a UDH, that would be an impossible lineup to navigate on a nightly basis.

Betts, Seager, Turner, Bellinger, Ozuna, Muncy, Smith, Pollock, Lux

For me, the way he has acted this offseason has probably solidified his chances of becoming a Dodger at 0%. I think there are just too many red flags and that video that was posted on here the other day may not help matters as I am sure other teams are well aware.

They had some good moments for the Dodgers but not having to watch Wood/Baez pitch for a team I root for is a great feeling to be honest

Wood had some good moments but it seems like more bad moments. I don't know that there would've been a role for him in the coming season, barring multiple injuries to the regulars. I'm grateful for his late contributions to the championship, and it's good that he's leaving on a high note - let's leave it at that.

Retire Alex Wood’s number for those two innings in Game 6.

There was a lot more good to Baez than bad, although some of the bad was monumentally bad.

That said, I'm not going to miss his rain delays in between pitches or the close ups of his mug. He's a contender with Bellasario and Otis Nixon as the all-time ugliest Dodgers.

    • DJ LeMahieu is reportedly close to re-signing with the Yankees for 6 years and $90M.
    • Mets and Hand are supposedly close on a deal, but there are still two other teams in the fray.
    • There is a report that the Dodgers and Justin Turner are close to a deal, but it is not from a super trusted source
    • MLB and the MLBPA are still in talks about the UDH and expanded playoffs for 2021

I feel like it is going to be someone that you just don't expect. Someone that is a bit desperate and this would put them into contention, damn the cost. I could see the Marlins, White Sox, Blue Jays, Phillies, Mariners, Astros, Rangers, Padres and maybe the Giants all kicking around on him. I feel a well oiled machine is gonna be really wary of bringing that attitude into the clubhouse.
