Kind of leaning with BZ so far, this Cingrani kid stay's on a taut leash until we see him actually come through more than twice
Cingrani with the luck of the Irish, uh, Italian (?) with that liner that turns into a DP. Kenley actually a little lucky with that circus catch Kike makes. My first reaction when he twisted up and over his head on the full tilt gallop was that " it's good to be young". After a most horrendous night at the plate, worst I've seen him have in a long time ( last year, maybe), I'm glad he was out there to haul that in. Applause, Kike. I was thinking that players have elevated their individual games to such a level this year, that you start to unconsciously demand perfection from each one. Like growing impatient with Maeda after consecutive walks, and the the guy winds up with a one hit, one run turn. And goes 6. Real nice. I see Dave not trying to get blood out of a stone, and removing Kenta before his engine goes into a stall and he crash lands, like only Kenta can. Mach 2 mph. Liked that. Not crazy about Cingrani, but the FO must believe in the guy...and today's patchwork bp game won't have him. But it will possibly Watson...we'll see.
Mike Marshall is the only other Dodger reliever in the conversation IMO, but he wasn't as good as Kenley. But a season with 100+ appearances and 200+ innings out of the pen is amazing.
Dave Roberts using Cingrani and Ravin as set up guys is hilarious. What a power move. "We're so fucking good, we're gonna use some of our lower options in a 3-1 game just to see what they got"
I'm already preparing for the first time one of those guys blows a close one against the D'Backs or Rockies(or Brewers for that matter) and we get to hear from the others media outlet that we're doing it cause we're scared to play the other guys.
Its fun, glad more of us are taking notice of the brilliance going on here. Fans have been slow to pick up on the fact that the organization has had this house money approach for a while now. And its measured, not cocky. It has made this season even more awesome to watch unfold. Thats why I was telling folks a while back that the journey of this season is where the real compelling action was at. The ring is the goal of course and that will come, but that watching and learning what these nerds are doing is better than game of thrones or anything a hollywood writer can write. Watching brilliant nerds pull this shit off is truly inspiring to a dull nerd like me.
i think you may be forgetting/underestimating how good eric gagne was or maybe it's because he was on shitty teams wasn't long, but he was the most dominant closer i ever saw -- 100mph fastball, change up, bugs bunny curve
