Call me a horrible person but I root for a career ending injury every single time Kimbrel is on the mound I'll settle for a season ending injury.
"At some point, I'm going to put the guys out there that give us the best chance to win." Really Davey? And what point would that be? When you're watching the World Series from your lazy-boy?
Roberts standing firm beside his closer has all the conviction of Neville Chamberlain declaring "Peace in our time!" Dave .... You're an insufferably stupid cunt. You will (AGAIN) cost this team a title by your inept, gut-based, numbskull baseball decisions. My B minor little league coach was a drunken sack of shit, managed us with a six pack of warm Pabst at his side while puffing Pall Malls, and he died of lung cancer 25 years ago ... and even Ed Schmutzler could have three WS titles with this team since 2014. You fairy. You company man.
I would say this is a blessing in disguise but I have no confidence in Kimbrel being removed from his role.
The thing that really irritates me is that Kimbrel was given the soft part of the lineup, as usual. Vesia stranded the runner at second (with a little help from CT) by getting 2, 3, 4 out. Kimbrel faced four batters, none of whom were hitting .250, and he only got one out. Pathetic.
Both the third base and home plate umpires can go fuck themselves BTW. Chad Fairchild needs to be investigated for fixing games
yeah but if you compare everything, Kimbrel gave up a bunt single because no one was expecting a bunt, a walk partially because of a shitty umpire, and to cap it all off a jam shot blooper in a bad spot with a 73 mph exit velocity. that is in contrast to Vesia who gave up a walk and a scalded ball by McCutchen that just happened to be hit close enough to Chris Taylor. Offense also didn't get the job done tonight, they are still on the swing for the fences at all costs approach
Roberts also believes that the moon is made of green cheese, that unicorns exist, and that for every drop of rain a flower grows. Hey, I believe I weigh 165, Dave. Here's me squeezing my fat ass into a pair of 32" Levi's. Here's me busting out the inseam .... You stupid bastard, Roberts. Get a grip. Stevie Wonder can see that Kimberly ain't got the game to close a one-run game. Come October, a Braves or Astros or Yankees hitter is gonna war club his flat slider into the parking lot because you're too myopic to use a qualified closer.
Agree on Vesia, but at least he's been pitching well. Kimbrel hasn't all year and yes, he had some rotten luck last night. You're not going to get close calls when you scatter the ball over like he does.
