thought i was watching todays game for a quick minute but watched the Belli double and damn that swing made me happy
i know its spring but that was a nice inning verdugo and barnes putting the ball in play when it looked like we would leave them out there
Oh, I forgot. Sorry Meada is the best bargain in baseball. And I realize, now is the time we find out if he he collapses in August. Pretty sure he will.
Before last year, Dodger players and some minor league staff considered Barnes to be the most likely guy to hit .300 every year in the big leagues. If he bounces back, Verdugo gets a chance, and Pollock plays toward his ceiling, it could help the lineup immensely in the contact department. Then again, if Bellinger and Muncy don't show up, the middle of the order will sag.
I’m locked in a classroom all week, so I couldn’t watch his outing. HR aside, he’s having a hell of an opening to the spring. There’s a lot of talk about this and that with the club, but something kinda overlooked is Urias with potentially May coming up behind him continuing their upward trend completely flips the script for this club going forward. Having two, maybe three young front of the rotation power arms could turn the tide in a playoff series. Keeping my fingers crossed for their overall health, but OKC is gonna be one hell of a rotation to watch early on. Horrible afterthought was the idea of “when have we seen a rotation like this? Oh yeah the 90’s Braves!” Let’s not be totally like them, but our future rotation has potentially some scary depth getting close.
Also, - Loved seeing the Rios left on left dong after being out sick. Dude could be another interesting bat this season. - Beaty continuing to get some hits. - Loving what I’m seeing from Estevez. Don’t know why, but man do I like his swing. - Barnes hitting line drives(AND PULLING THEM) is great to see. - LOL with everyone freaking out about Allie. Dude needs to show up for a couple weeks before I jump on that train. Great to see him doing well, but his command comes and goes.
I didn't follow today's game, but it sounds like Urias looks good even though he gave up a homerun to Longoria of all people. More importantly, I don't want him to over throw. He's still young and already had a shoulder issue. Got to pace himself over 162.
Loving the potential of the rotation, but wake me when they take the training wheels off the kids, if they ever do.
This LA/CL game is some yawn. The LA K rate may even exceed last year's, and it seems to be the same guys. oh well.
Conversely, today's game with the LAA, was a good one, and showed some outstanding pitching...from everyone in there. Felt pissed that Caleb gave up a line drive HR to some cretin, but he came right back and blew the next two guys away like dead leaves. Overall, they looked pretty good, and the second string team with the lion's share of playing time. Laughable that the 20 second pitching timer is becoming known ( and may be common in future bb lexicon), as the " Beaz clock". Sort of like" she really gave me an awesome Lewinski "...isn't the English language grand?
