SportsCenterVerified account @SportsCenter Lakers will honor @SHAQ with this awesome statue. (via @Lakers)
That shit better be strong because I see people trying to jump and do pullups off of Shaq's big foot.
There is a statue of the late Payne Stewart by the 18th green of Pinehurst #2 with him in the pose he struck as the putt that won the 99 Open fell in the cup. That putter has been broken I think 3 times now, kids hanging on it and such. Just about everyone who plays the course for the first time wants their picture taken with Payne. I couldn't count the number of times players have asked me to get their picture or their group's picture with him.
First time i passed golf on the TV and stopped to watch was because of Payne Stewart. I had him in my NFL Pro Set card collection. That plus his clothing and his manner made me enjoy watching him play a sport i didnt have much interest in.
Julius played his ass off tonight tho. 23pts/14rebs A for effort on the attempted block, rather him try to block it than let him get an easy one... ...but daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn Haha
Like that lineup...might have to bring Hibbert back tho to backup Whiteside...teams like intentionally fouling Whiteside. Another reason Bynum was so beast, big fella used to knock down the FTs. Hibbert's hittin his FTs at like 85%, which is fuckin excellent for anybody, but especially a true center Either that or run Nance at center down the stretch
I mean I think it's somewhat realistic. Man keeping that draft pick though is the pivotal swing in this rebuild being ramped up that much quicker. This lineup would give us some more shooting on the wing (Ingram) and honestly hopefully Russ shoots a better % in year 2 from downtown. The stroke is there, it's just begging to going in the bucket more consistently. Ingram's size on the wing and Whiteside's legit rim protection improves the defense quite a bit. Hibbert gets blocks but it's mostly as a result of his shear size, he isn't an rim eraser coming from the weakside, he just doesn't move well enough. Also think an underrated aspect about Whiteside is his athleticism playing with Russell in the pick n roll, Russ needs a guy like him to showcase himself even more. Other than that Whiteside is just there offensively, but that's fine. And as for Clarkson, man I'm just not sold on him being a high division starting top option. I think his best role is ultimately as a 6th man type guy. I've bounced back and forth on his best position, but with his shooting apparently just gonna always be meh, I like him on the ball more if we can actually. He's gonna overlap with Russell on the court at times and that's fine, but he gets most of Russ' rest minutes at the 1. DeRozan isn't a high caliber shooter either but I think he moves better without the ball and Russ will set him up at the foul line like it's nobody's business. And overall DeRozan is just a higher caliber scorer and athlete. Final step is canning Byron's bald ass. Luke Walton completes the dream offseason but their is a few other competent coaches out there that would be a vast improvement.
You're kidding. Bynum is somewhere with a Frederick Douglass style afro that's bigger than the moon and a pegleg His time is over, it was fun as hell while it lasted tho
I just ask for 3 things in those regards: 1) Simmons 2) Or Ingram 3) The Celtics don't get Simmons Even if we ended up with Ingram...if the C's got Simmons ahead of us that'd turn smiles upside down in Lakerland DLo will get it. He's not strong enough yet, age 21-22 is target for him, turns just 2o in a month I believe. The weight room is calling. Yeah I'm good with that. They can go small at backup center behind Whiteside, but hopefully the guy can make FTs. Or hopefully Whiteside would improve from the FT line, probably not gonna happen at this point, but who knows really Wouldn't be terribly mad if they let him walk and started saving up for Westbrook TBH. Brings the defense too. Haha Not so sure that happens this summer. Would be cool tho for sure.
I wonder if the Clippers would trade Blake Griffin to the Lakers? For... Jordan Clarkson, Brandon Bass, Ryan Kelly, Nick Young, Roy Hibbert Would you do it? Would they?
Speaking for my people, no. Certainly not for all that garbage, Clarkson being the only competent player that would fill a need.
Bass would slot in there for Blake to keep the playoff run going. Nick and Roy providing bench help on offense and defense. But i understand. How bout Clarkson and Randle?
Any move would happen during the off-season (Bass and Hibbert are Free Agents, so they are irrelevant), they aren't gonna forgo a playoff series win (the west sucks 5-8) and a shot at San Antonio or Golden State (slim as it may be) for young players. Randle and Clarkson might be a good start though.
Im wondering if we could pry festus away from GSW? If there is one thing LAL needs, it's a big who can legitimately Rebound, defend, and keep up with the young guys. Not sure Id be comfortable giving big money to Whiteside.
