Wooooooooooooooooooooooow. So Larry Bird just stepped down in Indy. Lol http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/19264939/larry-bird-stepping-president-indiana-pacers Now Magic can't deal with his buddy Larry..guess the upside is that Bird can't send George to Boston on some sweetheart Mchale/Boston/KG type of shit. But damn, shit got real pretty fast.
Yeah I always thought having Bird there wasn't going to help us anyways No way Bird openly helps Magic Just No way Now Magic can charm the Silver BB Gawds and get us that numero uno pick regardless of George
Among Bird's biggest accomplishments with the team was drafting Danny Granger in 2005 and Paul George in 2010. The team selected Kawhi Leonard in 2011, but traded his draft rights to the Spurs for George Hill. Ouch..Kawhi and George could have been teammates. Don't just throw around Jordan/Pippen comps, but man they could've been pretty good. I don't know what to make of it all just yet, but maybe Bird stepping down will be good enough excuse for Indy to take less in a trade, or maybe he stepped down because he didn't wanna be leveraged by George and take the L. George pretty much still holds the cards tho..if he says he'd only re-sign with the Lakers after next year ( reported already), that kills Indy's leverage
That's fun to think about except, when teams trade draft rights, the team trading for that player is the one who made that pick. Just lame NBA rules don't allow trades of picks once the draft actually starts, tis why it goes like that
I don't get it. I mean, I get it, but Kawhi and George could've still been teammates, so it's still cool to think about.
Clippers crashed and burned predictably in Game 7. OK no Blake Griffen but PLENTY of blame to share for the summer. And Paul Pierce provides the defining statement of his career on his final game spending 22 minnutes to gain merely 6 points and 3 boards. Which is exactly where he belongs in reference to Kobe's last day. However his 6 points did move him past John Havlicek for #15 all time. Redick and Crawford were at best role players. Redick spent 22 minutes to gain 3 points. Crawford had good numbers at 8 of 16 for 20 pts but needs someone else to lead him or better talent around him or ??. Bless D'Andre for his 24 points but 6-15 from the stripe when you lose is why you don't move on. He should not be permitted breakfast over the summer until he shoots AND MAKES 100 free throws. Every day. Every meal. Free throws feed you. Focus. Just focus. And will Chris Paul bail on the team? Is the world still interested in a short no 'D' PG that shoots 6 of 19 and 1 of 7 from downtown? Hit 40% and that's an extra 6-10 pts lost to go with D'Andres 9 at the stripe. Umm that changes the score more than a little. They lost because they played like losers. It showed. Will they learn? Who cares? It's only the Clippers. Now back to Lakers draft scenarios
LOL it was inevitable its the fucking FLIPPERS the best part was listening to my attorney who is a converted (because of Kobe yeah right) Lakers fan "it was a great run and a lot of fun and we'll what the future has to hold blah blah" i love busting his balls and have done it in front of a myriad of sports fans in bars all over LA but i need him right now so i needed to pull back a little and just bite my tongue but i was smiling listening to him talk on that phone call and no i didn't have to pay for it lol
Hard to find a Clipper fan who isn't fair weather. because why? Donald Sterling's limp legacy? Ballmer hasn't done shit yet to warrant any admiration on his own. Will he? Will I care then either? Not a chance.
CP3 can still ball, probably has another 2-3yrs of good ball before he falls off, works extremely hard at his craft and is at least a respectable defender. If LAL can somehow make a move for Paul George on draft night while simultaneously clearing some cap space, I could see Magic trying to get that CP3/Paul George coup and shoot for the playoffs ASAP. I don't think Jimmy Kimmel was just rattling off random names in that interview with Magic..it was CP3 and Paul George and that was it, which Magic probably told him ahead of time. Under normal circumstances, like I said above and what Sam Amick sort of got to as well, George having so much leverage would mean that he could force Indy to trade him for less compensation. But if I'm LAL and I'm trying to clear some of the books, I probably wouldn't mind attaching Jordan Clarkson to Deng in an offer that starts with Russell and the late 1st round draft pick that they got Houston. If Magic can get a commitment from CP3 ahead of time..like " hey, you get Paul George and I'm coming..I'm sick of this Clipper shit "..Magic would probably have to pull the trigger on that and bring CP3 + Paul George + the Top 3 lotto pick in. CP3 could mentor whichever guard they take in the Top 3, if they'd take a PG, that is..personally, I still feel the biggest 2-way impact guy - Josh Jackson - is the best way to go under any circumstances. But hey, CP3 and Magic mentoring Lonzo or Fultz isn't too bad a look at all.
Can LaVar just shut the hell up? He just cost his son millions in endorsement fees from the get go, and now got Chino's basketball coach to get fired. Just shut up.
Should be interesting to see what happens Deng said he expects quite a few changes, so maybe he's hearing stuff
Deng has no business being here in the first place.. so whatever he hears should be the train whistle out of town
No way. Rubio defends and is a great playmaker that attacks and gets everyone involved. Clarkson is just average at everything and not good at anything. If he showed as much heart on defense as he shows on offense then maybe.
