We have nobody who can guard speedy guards. Rubio is excellent. We have nobody who can get others involved consistently. Rubio is excellent. He cant shoot though, but that is why we surround him with guys that can. The Lakers have guys that are finishers, Rubio could set them up to get clean looks more often.
Rubio in the second half of the season... PPG: 16.0 = Decent third/fourth scoring option. APG: 10.5 = Awesome distributor and floor leader with only 3 TO per game. RPG: 4.6 = Gets 1.5 steals as well playing tough D and always working hard. FG% .420 = Becoming more efficient and is now used more with a FGA of 12.3 a game. 3P% .353 = The biggest improvement will get better under Luke with more than the 2.8 3PA he had. FT% .917 = Excellent FT shooter who gets to the line a whopping 5.0 per game. He does not fit the system they use in Minny and have drafted PG's who they believe fit their system better. I think we make a good fit as trade partners.

I actually think what Lavar has done is brilliant for the most part. Loud and ridiculous, but brilliant. The Kobe/Shaq locker room was heading down the path of destruction for years, a bunch of issues just building up over time until contracts were coming to an end and tough decisions had to be made by Dr. Buss. Personally, I'd love for Lavar to light into guys when they're playing like shit..the players maybe wouldn't be happy about it, but Lonzo's been dealing with it forever, so I'm not sure if they'd take out their frustrations on him. The way he's handled it for so long, teammates taking out frustrations on him would make them look pretty weak, and then of course none of those guys want to incur the wrath of Magic - who's already shown he's not going for any slacking either. Instead..how about step your game up and shut Lavar up? That way we all benefit. I don't want any weak-minded Dwight Howard types on LAL anyway. Anyway, I see a blend of Penny Hardaway and Steph Curry in Lonzo's game, so sure, I think he's good enough to deal with Lavar..and let's face it, Lakers have never back away from headlines - good or bad. They just see it as relevance. And if Lavar ever goes too far they'll just shrug and say " that's unfortunate, but he's not on our payroll. " Lonzo has to get better defensively though for sure
