    Yeah you're right. Completely.

But it totally did scramble their collective melons. Weren't you watching? Wasn't that long ago. Professionals or not it was the event that caused the implosion that year and to that team.

From which they never again rose

    Anybody watching the NBA playoffs??
    @LAdiablo ??

What is the over/under on the number of ex-Lakers players that made the playoffs when we didn't?

10 was my first raw guess just listening the telecasts.
Google hasn't yet been much help but ..

    1) Pringles and
    2) Mike Brown both still coaching
    3) Trevor Arriza
    4) Lou Williams
    5) Matt Barnes
    6) Pau Gasol
    7) Dwight Coward
    8) Jose Calderon

    6 players and 2 coaches.

Good riddance all except maybe Gasol and Arriza
and neither is gettng a ring this year

Good riddance to Pau as well for sure.
Appreciate all he did for LAL at his best, but by the time his run was coming to an end he was a whiny bitch who couldn't defend to save his life.
Almost like he sold his soul to help beat Boston in 2010 because he was never the same after, had Phil punching him in the chest in the huddle the following year against Dallas, he was toast..is toast..did you see Harden dunk on him the other night? Lol
Anyway, another former Laker, albeit for 1 day..Patrick Beverley.
He never actually suited up, but he was drafted by Mitch and then dealt over to Riley

i just remember when we really needed him in the finals and he was basically shoulders rolled forward and not even there because of whatever that shit was that went down between him and kobe
i understand if you are heart broken it sucks, but if you have reached the finals you need to look your team mates in the eye and reach down for that internal energy and channel your inner monster
it was obvious he couldn't get out of his own head to save his life
no one died in that situation as far as i know
48 minutes at a time he could have put it behind him

    So true.

    The team spirit died.
    The Lakers music died.

He never got it out of his head and then was trucked off. Pau earns a highly improbable ring 'someday' and maybe he earns 10% back. Maybe.

You may be talking about 2011, the year after the Finals VS Boston, 2011 is when they were trying reach the Finals for the 4th year in a row and Carl Landry just pretty roasted Pau before Dirk massacred him ( Dallas eventually winning the title over Miami/LeBron)
Pau was pretty good in those 2010 Finals though against Boston.
Or maybe you're thinking about the 2008 Finals when Garnett just punked him in his 1st year with LAL.
There was some ridiculousness out there in 2011, some rumor that Shannon Brown was fucking Pau's GF or something..it was crazy and pretty funny too.
After that 2011 flame out LAL tried to trade Pau for Chris Paul

The L to Dallas came outta nowhere too
I mean out of nowhere..LAL had clowned them in their final meeting in the reg-season..look at that score, MWP was kissing his muscles..it was all good..
I really thought Kobe was finally gonna meet LeBron in the Finals

So much at stake here, they get to keep the 2019 first in addition if they keep this one. Two first round picks riding on the ping pong balls here.

Magic just said that he and Pelinka are more so looking towards 2018's FA crop..which of course includes Paul George and former Pelinka client Avery Bradley.
Both would be a couple nice 2-way gets, but one could also look at Magic's comments as a leverage play against Indy..him basically saying he'll just wait for George instead of giving up more than he really needs to in order to trade for him.
Which is straight from Kupchak's book, so it was pretty nice to hear that line.

So it looks as if LAL does get George, that they won't be giving up a gang of their best assets if anything at all..Magic and George would seem to be on the same page since George is flexing his leverage over Indy as well.
I think something's going to happen..

a lot could happen before Tuesday

but smart money seems that Magic is using PR leverage just as we'd expect.

Are we better waiting to not lose anyone?
    I'm not about waiting.

Of course mental midget Howard sure took us

Im not sure I want to give up Ingram or Randall. I would offer Russell/Clarkson/Houston pick for George.

If you're Indy you're as greedy as possible right now

George's best power move is to wait another year but that's brings risk
