I don't, and it's not because I don't want repeatedly bad teams getting top picks and players, it's because I don't want mediocre teams to get top players that will put them over the top
Yeah, that's the downside of a unweighted lottery, and why all the small market teams will probably kill the idea.
Ironic because the last few years, the small market teams have been doing well and are out of the lottery. The ones that are in are LA, NY, Philly, Brooklyn, Pheonix, etc....
wtg silver you fucking pinhead people watch sports to get away from "social issues" i hope they start sitting for the anthem, raising their fists etc and this blows up in you freakish face In the letter, obtained by ESPN, Silver and Roberts told the players, “None of us operates in a vacuum. Critical issues that affect our society also impact you directly. Fortunately, you are not only the world’s greatest basketball players — you have real power to make a difference in the world, and we want you know that the Players Association and the League are always available to help you figure out the most meaningful way to make that difference.”
I don't know the context of the comment.....he could be talking about Irma/Harvey relief for all I know.
Cool to see that Zo was working with Nash this off-season, if he can master a floater or runner at his size it'll make him that much more effective
because i just want to watch a fcuking basketball game thats why i tune in maybe someone else needs their "social conscience" from an athlete i don't just want my minstrels to perform and stfu
Yeah its a rare athlete capable of forming an intelligent sentence worth listening to Of course since we pay these simpletons millions of $$$ and since America is ALL about revering the $$$ then of course they expect to have their opinions fawned over. Nah dude you're just 7' tall, shut up and rebound
The athlete who forgets he is an entertainer and gets philosophical better be 100% at the right time and 100% righteous in his anger. If he is not he should just stick to being an entertainer. Because the moment he opens his mouth he stops being an entertainer and becomes news and all news is bad news except the good news. There are rare exceptions that only prove the rule. If you are not like that then you are a rebel with an excuse. And rebelling with an excuse is kinda lame. The entertained though should only care about these types for their entertainment. The moment they start caring about their views on whatever... they stop being the audience and become a bunch of bitches on a daytime talk show like whatever show Steven A Smith types are on. Except of course with that rare entertainer who actually has something important and new to add to the pot. He is that exception that is worthy of attention. That is so rare though. But when that happens you should take notice. But for the far majority of the times when someone in the public eye opens their mouth you really should turn a deaf ear. And we should really not flap our lips about them at all. Or else we help lay the foundation for their monument brick by brick.
So true Rube so true Of course its harder and harder to ignore these fools when MSM fawns over their evrey fart
I dont blame the athletes. They have a platform and they want to use it to influence things that are important to them. I blame the public for giving a shit about what Colin Kapernick, or LeBron James, or any actor has to say. I also blame their bosses (the NBA and the team owners) for letting them use the game as a platform. I'd get in a load of shit if I used the platform/influence I have at work for personal political evangelizing. And so should they. Do it on Twitter, do it in your own time.
Blame is easily assigned it seems. So it's OK for spoiled rich athletes to speak out from their narrow perspectives? Umm OK we'll agree, after all aren't we all permitted to speak in America? But then to blame team owners "for letting them use the game as a platform" How is it that rich athletes are not to blame for speaking but rich owners are to be blamed for speaking? Umm left side of mouth meet right side of mouth. And then to state "I blame the public for giving a shit"?!? So the athletes are not blamed for speaking but the public is blamed for listening? Yeah about that:crazy: A perfectly fetid load of well earned shit at that, thanks for serving it up.
One Jerry West on ESPN 1st Take with Stephen A. Lol He must have found out Magic was going on tomorrow and so " the battle " is on smh
yeah i knew you laid that out there to come at me w the racist old white guy rant somethings never change i know, your life sucks because of old white guys :console: but hey i agree its a choice whether or not to pay attention to these simpletons but i also agree w Cap its pretty hard to do when its all the talking heads want to talk about sports is escape from all the bs that life provides and if its not going to be that it gets tedious shoot the ball homie and if you make enough baskets you can get a ring and more money kobe and jordan and magic and bird and on and on kept their opinions to themselves i would prefer that since i really don't care what mebron thinks or if kyrie is sure the world is flat maybe in some way i do care because it truly points up whats wrong w society when a guy can go to school and travel around in planes and still be that dumb but hey i'm just an old white racist so i'll be dead soon so who gives a fuck what i think?
You feel too strongly about this stuff imo. You can control your own self. If you cant then you are a tool of the very MSM you despise. And they want to control others because the others... cant control themselves.
