    Does anyone care about the Lakers, or no?*

    *I met Ruven on the Lakers thread on PSD, so even though I can't root for a douchebag that crowns himself after hitting meaningless 3 at the end for the game, it still seems appropriate for this site.

    So hard to care. Hate LeDouche so there’s that. The NBA’s culture as a whole is horrible, not to mention how they bow down for Chinas money. Love the Laker brand, but it’s a hard pass for me until things change, but I’m sure it never will so I’ll continue to watch bad Dodger baseball until they fire Dave.

    grew up watching west and wilt
    loved the showtime teams of the 80’s
    and really enjoyed watching phil teach kobe and shaq how to coexist
    but some time after chick passed, after shaq moved on… i just lost interest
    weird too, because i was a rabid fan

    Celebrating finishing above .500 for one of the historically greatest franchises in sports is pure clown shit, as is LeBron's crown move.

    If you think about it, there's a handful of us here on this site, and we generally feel the same way about the Lakers and/or the NBA. We feel this way independent of one another - not because one of us changed our opinion and influenced the others. So if you take our small subset and extrapolate it out over the entire fan base, it has to be a significant development for the organization and/or the league. Maybe we're just old farts and they don't care because their new target demographic is still filling the seats. I know it's a business, but it's a shame that they completely sold out and left principles behind. When I was younger, I figured I'd be cheering the team on from my deathbed. Now here I am in my 50's with hopefully some good years left, and I have absolutely zero interest in the team. I can name only three current players, and I couldn't even say with complete certainty that they're all still there. Nor do I care.

    the Warriors basically changed the game
    it was exciting to watch in the old cow palace w the fans on top of the court
    but then it just turned into a 3 pt shooting contest w no other skills necessary
    once again the math wins out but its so boring to watch for those of us that remember actual plays
    was looking to see if Jamie Jaquez would get drafted thinking it was his size that might hold him back
    projected as a late first high second round pick because he's not a great 3 pt shooter!
    watching the game yesterday the Lakers would get up by 7 and gun a 3 pt shot that missed and suddenly the jizz were back in the game
    that's pretty much every game i catch
    seems like the game always evolves so i hope its soon but something tells me it won't cause the "stars" like it like this
    lazy basketball w no need to actually think

    That was a big part of it for me. Agree with many of the other reasons stated here (boring NBA play, douchebag players, etc.) but Chick's love for the game couldn't be replaced and left a void.

    This^^^ and the passing of Dr Buss. Those Buss kids wouldn’t know talent and a gate draw if it slapped them. The end for me was LeBone. He personifies everything that’s wrong with the NBA. All about me attitude and the fact that win or lose they all act like friends. No more rivalries in the NBA, hell sports in general. I’ll stick with baseball.

    Minnesota tried to gift wrap the game late in the 4th and Lakers wouldn't take it. Lakers showboat after what should have been the game winning three by Schroder. Karma bite them in the ass after the dumbest foul in NBA playoff history by AD.

    Actually got sucked (go ahead @irish) in to watching the game last night. Any talk of this team going beyond the 2nd round is a joke. They are currently an embarrassment to a once proud franchise. Sad...
