i agree puig's approach was shit, but pinch hitting is really tough, so its ok for now. but he has to become smart. 2-0, teams are not throwing him fastballs, so dont pull a kemp and swing at sliders. the pitch he struck out on was tough.

Volquez and Marmol just prove that Ned still sucks limp dicks

What did those guys really cost us? Anything more than a warm 6 pack and we got screwed...

The team had all these odds stacked against them and only lost by 2. Our #7 starter and 3 regulars vs. their best and thats the outcome?

    Lets go win in cincy

We're starting to have a larger sample but I'm loving what we see from Wilson. If him and Paco can nail down most of that 7th/8th with Howell/Belisario gettig a few outs in them, I feel great. And although Marmol struggled today, he's getting people to swing and miss which is good.

They took 2 out of 3 in Colorado where they don't fare well so I am happy. You can basically throw out any and all pitching performances in that environment. Up until last night Marmol had a 3 ERA for us and considering what he was in Chicago, that is pretty decent. Encouraging that Young had 3 hits as well. All in all I am a happy camper.

We obviously don't see much the same these days at all. If Ryu is in hospital, on crutches, whatever, there's still better options than Volquez, that would serve us better that the 'experiment'.
And he gave up 4 ER as far as the last report on the CO broadcast, and I think he pitched a shitty game. Without a doubt. Hitters blasting shots off the wall is usually not a good thing. Going 4 innings and giving up an average of a run in each is not too far away from a disaster, IMO. Not in my BB world anyway.
The team is going great guns, no doubt...I sure hope it all winds up in a WS victory after a quarter of a century, because if it doesn't, talk about anti- climaxes. A run like this looks like pissing in the wind if we don't take the brass ring home.
But I think some people are now relegting DBB to genius status, and sorry, that doesn't come after three years.
He still fucks up and makes jerkoff moves. We all do. But we're just not managing the beloved ones.
Bochy won 2 out of the last 3 championships....I wonder what he is now?

I like Dee Gordon batting cleanup and League starting in Cincy.
When you have to use things like this to validate a guy's performance, it pretty much means he sucks on a very deep level. Deep, very deep.

I've come around on Ethier over the past 5 weeks. Hitting balls with authority and all over the field is more frequent. His bat speed has seen a second wind. Earlier in the season he was getting jammed on 90 mph fastballs whether it was LHP or RHP. He looks closer to his old self now and is playing a premium position.

I know yesterday was just one game but I hope SVS has a successful September, cause if not, he's not gonna be on that playoff roster. He started out the year hot but if he can't hit lefties, he's of no use to us. He's not gonna have many opportunities to show he can hit them so hopefully he does cause a good SVS vs. lefties probably helps us out more than a Hairston or Michael young, considering the power he can bring. Versatility is more a thing for the regular season, plus in te playoffs punto can play 2B/SS/3B so well need our best hitters on that bench, and hopefully one of them is SVS.

Although we have that division locked up, these guys are still gonna be competing for final bench/bullpen pieces. I'm intrigued who gets them
