You absolutely offer Turner the QO. He is going to be one of the top FA's available this offseason, they'd be insane not to offer him.

Respectfully disagree, sir. Last year he played more games than any in his career...126. It's a matter of time before he goes down this year. If not this year, then next year for sure. He has truly been an asset and went over and above all expectations, but he is not durable. The QO would be a 300+% raise for him from his current salary. I don't think so.

And it wasn't much more than a month ago that every one on this board hated him and wanted him gone.

    Like they do Puig, now.

(Did I say that out loud???)

    Not much of a difference.
    Both words come from 'bear'.

Wow talk about bad luck......the angels lost another pitcher, on the heals of G Soto hitting the DL earlier this week.

No time like the present for the Dodgers to dangle Urias/Pederson/Barnes/and others for Trout.......

Yeah Turner QO 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000% but probably gotta extend him beyond that yeah

Played the most games of his career and had a 4 WAR. After a slow start this year, he is almost at a 3 already. From what I am finding, one win is worth $6-7 Mil. If he puts up another season of 4 WAR this year, yeah he's more than worthy of a QO. He is not taking a one year contract, he is going to try to get paid. If he takes the Dodgers QO, they will be doing backflips, as will I.

Yup and if he signs elsewhere after getting the QO from LAD they'll do back flips over the draft pick coming their way as well.
Either way, that man is getting the QO.

On Turner, have you seen the position player market for this winter? Turner leads all notable INFs in OPS+, unless you consider Trumbo or Encarnacion infielders. If he hits like he has the last 6 weeks, he'll do just fine.

Utley, fine, but it might just be good to get him off the roster to move Howie back to his natural position and get the young outfielders more ABs.
But Blanton is exactly what many teams are looking for, 1 year deal (less than $2M owed), misses bat, doesn't walk hitters.

Regardless of tonight's result, if Kershaw misses extended time, what's the point in trying to win this year?

Depends on what you mean by extended time.
Still, I watched a KC team with Shields as it's ace make a run.
And it's not like they're not winning games without CK pitching right now.

Let's look at the KC team that won it all last year. Edison Volquez was their top guy. Edison fucking Volquez. The same guy that couldn't hack it with us. And they beat that "unbeatable" monster of a rotation of degrom, Harvey and Thor in the process.

If CK is down for longer than any of us expected its gonna take a full team effort. Starters 1-5 and every single arm in that bully. Dudes gotta step up. So gotta cut the dead weight come crunch time.

And we all know that group or dorks in the FO will make a move to secure someone or someone(s).

If Kershaw is out for the year *maybe* if he's out for 2-4 weeks we're absolutely still in this thing
And they aren't going to full on sell regardless

I heard on local radio today about a possible deal between the Cubs and Yankees involving Miller and Chapman going to the Cubs for some package of players to the Yankees. Not sure if they were just talking crap or were serious.

    Anyone else hear this?

Cubs will never win anything. So might as well let them have Miller/Chapman instead of SF, STL, PIT, WSH, NYM
