    Other than you know Evan Longoria is a really good baseball player?

    Keep in mind Turner is a free agent after this year... it probably wouldn't make a ton of sense right now but maybe in the winter?

    I'd rather have Longoria than Braun. Moving one of Longoria/Turner to LF will still give you better defense than Braun. Long term Longoria will give you better position flexibility and he doesn't come with the steroid history. I'm not sure I really want either since both have long contracts going into their late 30's, but some people on here want Braun and I'd say Longoria is just as good of a fit if not better.

    Count me in for Longoria as well. 2 years younger and has been significantly more durable than Braun(Also having a very good year). Guessing that the plan would be to then move Turner to 2B or try to use him to get something else in one of their fun little 3-way trades.

    With their focus on being above average up the middle defensively, I would be shocked if Turner takes 2B.
    Same goes for Howie.

    I don't think it's realistic to get Longoria but it has me thinking I wish Adrian was easier to move cause you could put one of Longoria or Turner at 1B

    Adrian and his contract yet again another reminder that those big long term contracts get messy in the end cause you're stuck with them beyond them being elite or even good hitters. If Adrian had a flexible contract or defense we could really be talking about Longoria but nope

    Exactly, I don't know why folks want him at 2B
    Utley's defense is better by leaps and bounds, it's astonishing really
    Seeing the difference between the 2 really brings more understanding as to why Howie couldn't get the contract he wanted...it damn sure wasn't the bat

    I would definitely prefer Longo, but Braun is obviously the better fit.

    Doesn't matter though, cause I'm almost 99.7% positive we're talking to the Rays about one of their starters.

    If you can get a guy like Longo (a local kid) you find a place for the guy he would replace but as has been brought up the acquisition would be in the off-season when JT is free to leave or Utley retires etc.
