the first sign of trouble with Peavy, tough or not, Dodger fans would take a shit on him..no different than Haren, who helped hold the Dodgers together while Ryu/Kershaw were ailing in key stretches.

Cubs are gonna overpay for Peavy to get Lester in a package deal and they'll appreciate Peavy more in Wrigley anyway.

it could make them better down the road AND they could win without Kemp in the meantime.

" what are you doin talkin about Seager and Pederson!?! dontcha know prospects are prospects!?! i'd rather sign Markakis to a 7yr deal!!! he's proven i tell ya and we gotta win! " Lmao

if the front office looked at this core of everyday vets and figured that they're just chasing their tail, more power to them.

:laff: fresh on the mind is Peavy's last start @ Dodger Stadium against a hot Kemp and Hanley. what a jewel that was right in the middle of the clinching series..i remember us celebrating the fact that Kemp actually made contact in his last AB. Lol

    not true
    some would, some wouldn't
but you make a very good point...
he did as well as could be expected in the #4/5 spots
he's an innings eater and when our offense did their job (against the opponent's #4/5)
but the expectations should have been lower when he filled in for the higher spots in the rotation
same would (should) be true with peavy

i didn't say all Dodger fans would, but regardless..at this point i'm expecting a Kemp trade and that the trade will fill a back end spot in the rotation or maybe even eventually push Ryu back a spot. whether it's Iwakuma, Walker or Paxton, Gausman or Cashner, etc. the Peavy/Lester thing has wheels as far as i'm concerned..both have been talking about it. i guess they're just big buddies or whatever. i think both wind up with the Cubs.

Peavy would be a serviceable #4 in our division. His face does make me sick/angry though. Any word on whether or not Kuroda plans on pitching? He's much more dependable IMO and would only require a 1 yr deal.

This has to be the pre curser to another deal i would think. Maybe the rumors are true and Kemp is really on the move? Seems like a typical "metrics" move.

possibly. maybe they wanna take it slow with Joc to start out..put him in position to succeed early, give him some confidence and build him up a bit.

certainly looks like somebody's ass is grass in the outfield. Lol somebody not named Puig and vastly overpaid.

We have for squat organizational depth at centerfield. This move helps. If Eithier is traded we have one less possible center fielder. If is iffy at best and we don't want to rush him if not ready. Puig in center with Joc and the new guy in the minors. Dre goes and our centerfield depth at the majors is SVS. Same starting outfield as last year minus Dre on the bench. The Cuban with the G name becomes the fifth outfielder and infield depth. A super sub.

Haha, I'm not even going to try and figure WTF is going on.

At this point, I'm going to kick back and see what these MFers are going to do. In Friedman, Kasten and GG I trust.

1:30 until the non-tender deadline and nothing from the Dodgers. AJ Ellis making the list? Darwin Barney will hopefully be tendered.

Heisey hits righties better than lefties. Looks like an ideal 4th OFer to me.

Not sure what's going on here. Nice to be rid of Magill, of course. Agree that this may be a precursor to a future deal.
