If LAD doesn't want a 26 year old defensive stud infielder that averages 35 HRs, they'd better know he will surely find others that want him. Postseason performance should have an impact, but it's not the be all/end all here, not when it's his 1st go round with LAD/in the NL. And of course, LAD is used to paying big for guys who don't get it done in the postseason anyway.

They need to re-sign MM, get a healthy Seager back, and put Belli in the lead off spot. Belli is still growing, seeing him trust his contact skills and speed more and more..he might be perfect in the lead off spot/CF going forward.

And they were a terrible owner away from trading Alvarez in 2017, reportedly. Yadier Alvarez was rumored to be going to the O's for Britton, but Angelos vetoed the trade.

As was speculated, reports out of Arizona have the D'Backs admittedly exploring a full rebuild this offseason. Their farm is shit, their payroll is high(for them), they're losing two of their best players(Pollock and Corbin), two players are eating up a sizable chunk of their available salary and multiple good players are free agents either next season or the year after. Goldschmidt is expected to be shopped, but gotta believe that item #1 will be trading Greinke.

With the Yankees now officially eliminated, get ready for the fun speculation. Remember the Yankees are said to be #1 on Bryce Harper's wish list and there were rumors out of NY last year that said that Stanton was in some cases being viewed as a potential one and done scenario if things didn't workout. Stanton had a solid year at 4.0 WAR and an OPS of .852, but it was a far cry from the 7.6, 1.007 from the year before and his K rate sky rocketing is worrying. If the Yankees decide to go after Harper, expect the Dodgers to be talked about heavily. I'd still like to see him manning a COF spot for this club, but it would be great to see his tax hit get to about $22M(Marlins already knocked it down to 25)

Hard to believe Harper doesn't even turn 26 until the middle of this month.
Really think an organization like the Dodgers, who have the depth and resources to give guys adequate rest, can keep Bryce healthy.
I can see Bryce putting together a monster 4 years (age 26 - 29 seasons) before opting out of his contract.
Just don't know how they can keep all four of Manny, Seager, Turner, and Muncy in the infield. It may be easier to add in the OF.
Ultimately, I think Bryce will stay with Washington (and he probably should), but the Dodgers should at least give it a try.

    This is for Rube:

Imagine if they retain Manny and add Bryce (never gonna happen). You could let Kershaw walk (never gonna happen) and trade Cody + specs to the Mets for deGrom who will still have a couple under-market value years on his deal.

    RF - Harper
    IF - Turner
    IF - Seager
    IF - Machado
    IF - Muncy
    CF - Verdugo
    LF - Platoon
    C - ?

Seems crazy...but there's only one person in that lineup who isn't in it now.

    Oh, and it's not my money :D #BorasClients #MLBtheShowRoster

No kidding as there are also talks that the Rockies could look to shop Arenado. I don't think that would ever happen, but it would be a hilarious turn of events. That Rockies team over performed and could be looking at a step backwards(kinda like the Giants from 2 years ago). Just as the Dodgers are expected to open up their wallet, the other 4 teams in the division are all like, "nah, we out"

I’d love to see Arenado go to a pitchers park and hit 25 homers with a .825 OPS that’d be awesome. But watch if they move him it’ll be to Boston.

He's been pretty good in 17 & 18, still don't see a team parting with a lot for 3 years $100M+ at 35 (as you said), but undeniable that he's been good.

If this happens, and the ROX move off Arenado as well, that'll solidify a 90's Braves like run of division titles in a row for LAD, IMO. I'm thinking 10 in a row, at least. Hell, why ever lose again?

We could win 99 in a row and then SF would win one and it would be seen as a huge galvanizing victory revered by the media. After everyone shrugged their shoulders at our success.

They would probably win the WS via wildcard 5 times during our division title run
