cautiously optimistic you're right easy to look at this year and say he sucked balls -- he did but could his current injury have been a contributing factor? let's not forget that he was pretty damn good for us last year -- 2.93 ERA in 7 games sure he may be done... but he may not be (I need to find a sitting on the fence smiley)
If Beckett could come back and be productive, that would be phenomenal. I'm wondering when he started having the nerve problems because if I can remember, he had a pretty solid spring training.
I'm completely opposite on Beckett, I don't think he can bring much to the table anymore... His injury seems damn serious and not one where he can just come back and all of a sudden regain form. He might do some work as a #5, but I'm expecting a few DL stints in 2014 along with a meh ERA. If he can maybe hold on to that spot til a rookie/Bills take over, awesome, but I don't expect a full solid year out of him. Would love to be wrong of course
lol @ los angeles dodgers of los angeles The Market for Howie Kendrick Halos Daily | An ESPN Affiliate_Howie Kendrick’s days in an Angels uniform may be numbered.Los Angeles Dodgers (of Los Angeles) | Current 2B: Mark EllisMark Ellis is a fine baseball player, but the Dodgers don’t appear to be content with just fine baseball players. The 36-year-old is triple-slashing a modest .269/.319/.354, and has a club option worth $5.75 million next season. The Dodgers can opt out for $1 million and pursue other options, like Howie Kendrick.Ellis’s availability would also have an impact on the market, but if the Dodgers would opt out of the Ellis contract in search of an upgrade, they’ll clearly have interest in Kendrick. The Dodgers, typical of a well-run organization, have strong young pitching in their farm system. Zach Lee’s name came up in talks prior to the deadline, but, on the pitching side, the system also boasts Matt Magill, Chris Reed, Garrett Gould, and relievers Chris Withrow and Onelki Garcia. Lower down in the minors is Jose Urias, the lovable 16-year-old who reached the mid-90s in the Midwest League this season.Other than the fact that the Dodgers are the Dodgers, they look like a very viable trade partner for the Angels. __
The Dodgers signed Japanese free-agent right-handed pitcher Takumi Numata to a Minor League contract. Numata, 19, graduated from Ohgaki Nihon University High School in 2012 and played for the Edion AIT OB Blits of the Japanese Industrial League from April-September 2013. He is expected to report to Camelback Ranch-Glendale, where he will work out with the Dodgers' Instructional League team.
@truebluela: Greinke will pitch Sunday in SD, following Kershaw. Ryu gets extra rest, will start Tuesday in SF Lining up that playoff rotation
Which means two more starts for each of them, Saturday, the next Friday and then Game 1 on Thursday for Kershaw.
A .358 BABIP could be sustainable depending on the LD rate and the guys' speed. No one would ever argue differently. Matt Kemp has a .353 career BABIP.
