Could’ve paid Harper instead of Kershaw and got him at probably a lower AAV. Wild.

He opted out and resigned. Could’ve traded him if he opted in.

I'm old I forget lol. Don't think his value at that price was going to get anything.

 Guess Pollock didn’t trip on the empty popcorn box Kershaw did.

Hopefully insurance will cover his contract

He just needs to go spend some time in Texas with Roger Clemens and them boys that all had resurgence late in their careers.

I mean the Reds gave up two decent guys for Puig and Wood, Kershaw at 10 million more is more valuable than that

Can't even give Casey Close cred for this one. LAD just stepped right up to the front of a non-existent line for Kersh this offseason, saw they were just tall enough for a spin on the rickety ride and hopped on. Forget all the cracks on the frame, all the splintered wood and rust. " What's that long, drawn out, loud, squeaky noise? Eh fuck that noise. Who needs to live? YOLO!! "

Can't wait to see $30M+ sitting on the DL for another couple months this year, and then of course, the return in the nick of time to break hearts in the post once more. Same bat time, same bat channel. Even if the alternative was nothing at all, nothing at all is better than this shit. He's a #2 or #3 now, anyway. Replaceable at the deadline, or don't and just wait for Julio to come of age. We're waiting anyway, right? For Trout and Arenado, no? Smh

    • Both Roberts and Kershaw declined to clarify whether the pitcher’s prior back and shoulder problems were involved in his latest setback.

Kluber’s price to the Dodgers just got a whole lot larger. They call it “Dodger Pricing”

And here I was about to make claims that he’d be solid.

Why must Kershaw hurt me this way?

There are just so many places I can see this going south fast, and these aren't low possibility things. Kershaw, Kenley, Turner, and Seager all have possible age or health issues. The FO said they want to platoon less, but they are already announcing they will platoon at LF and 1B. We have a CF they just signed who they want to play it safe with, so add another platoon / health risk. Our 2nd best pitcher is coming back from Tommy John and on a serious innings limit, our 3rd best pitcher will get blisters guaranteed. The NLW is probably winnable for one more year like this, by scraping away with depth and limping into the playoffs, the NL might be winnable too, but virtually everything needs to go right for us to be a serious contender for a WS trophy.

You mean as cosmic punishment for him not being great any more or as a penance for the FO for their blatant, unrestricted zeal in extending him?
What does it matter where they put him numerically in the pecking order if his arm is blown out, or whatever the fuck it is?
I guess it would tweak his ego big time...as if that would change anything physically for him or make the Dodgers a better team behind dropping him to two, or three, or lower.
