There is no point. They have absolutely no cap room and are probably many millions over.

And then something like 108 million the next year. The 35% max contract for 10 year vets is going g to be upward of 40 million/year!

ESPN sources say Robin Lopez has chosen Knicks over Lakers and will join NYK as long as DeAndre Jordan, as expected, chooses Clips or Mavs 8m

Definitely disappointing free agency, but at least we have young pieces to build around moving forward. It's tough to be patient because it's the fucking Lakers, but we are still in good shape for the long haul. We just desperately need Kobe to swallow his pride and call it quits because his contract is a killer.

I think ultimately it comes down to the Spurs and Suns for Aldridge. Really hoping the Suns can pull it off; I think the last major free agent signing they had was Nash lol.

Like others have said, it sounds like the Spurs will have to create many moving parts for this to happen for them.

Gotta wonder why the Lakers got two meetings though.
Either really good food or they brought in the...ahem....actresses to take care of him during the meeting.

The Lakers are such a mess right now it's hard to see him choose them over two teams that would be immediate contenders with him. I mean Monroe even passed on them lol.
