I don't follow closely but it seems crazy that they spent 1 billion dollars in a single off-season, have one of the highest payrolls of all time, and still only have 4 good position players/hitters.

The Dodgers are still great - don't get me wrong...but remember when this kind of payroll got you
    Jeter/Arod/Teixeira/Cano/Posada/Damon/Matsui?

Agreed. I envy Atlanta’s lineup. A complete lineup 1-9. The bottom of the order for the Dodgers is disgusting.

It's still early, but so far I've been impressed with Teoscar and would add him to the plus category. And Muncy has been generally holding his own, albeit with a lot of strikeouts and ugly glove work - I would've preferred Busch at 3rd but for now Max has been okay at the plate. The problem is the bottom three in the order. Outman has not shown yet that he's ready to take the next step in his development... although Scarecrow is not doing him any favors the way he benches him whenever his bat starts heating up. Lux has clearly regressed from where he was pre-injury. Hopefully it's just a matter of time. And then, of course, Kaylor is an auto-out right now. Not sure what Heyward would've been giving us this year, but I know he wouldn't be striking out half the time.

Teoscar is a strong man. Hits 'em out as easily to RF as he does his pull side.

It’s one of the many reasons he’s a bad manager. He’d rather have everyone be his buddy than have a winning team.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how much confidence do you have in Stone tonight? I'm at about 1.75.

I honestly have been thinking that very same thing at multiple times this season.
I just get the feeling it's not a division lock this time around, no matter what the expectations are.
And Yamamoto is like leftover suahi, man.

Well most of those options are impossibilities. I mean, Vesia with an immaculate inning??? A Vesia shutout inning is enough of a longshot as it is, and I would've still picked Lux.

    Looks like a rain delay.

Hoping Outman and Lux show me something to be optimistic about tonight.

I can feel it. These early missed opportunities are going to come back to bite us in the ass.

Well that was interesting. Dodgers missed some opportunities early, then scored a run in the fourth and added three more in the sixth. Meanwhile, Stone proved me wrong and was on tonight... actually perfect through five. In the bottom of the fifth, Freeman, Smith (combined 0 for 8) and Teoscar made three outs in seemingly 3 minutes, and I felt that too short of a rest hurt Stone. He started unraveling after that with a walk and then some hits. Still though, it was a solid performance and worthy of the W that he got. The bottom third of the lineup contributed this time and scored some runs, with Mookie driving in a couple. Phillips stumbled a bit but got through the ninth for the save.

    lol.
@THEREAL_DV-Will Smith told us this on the postgame show about the Profar drama in the 4th inning:

"I don't know why we would have thrown at him...he's kind of irrelevant. "

Machado hit a good pitch. Only hard hit ball was Profar's on an 0-2 pitch.
