So now it's ok to listen to an entertainer. Just vote is all I ask either side.

And the information on the two last candidates was so appalling, why should anyone HAVE to vote for one of two people they find abhorrent ?
That makes zero sense to me.

when was the last time you felt good about any candidate?
I liked Reagan and I voted for Clinton his first term
but even then I felt like it was a lesser of two evils
then came the Bush jr vs Bore stuff and I was out, voted for Nader in hopes of 3%
the idea we need Trump out so bad a socialist is palatable blows my mind
there are no ideas, just screaming now

    Socialism is not the problem.
We already have plenty of it and other countries have plenty of capitalism too.
You can slow down progress but you can't stop entropy and they both go the same way.
All this stuff eventually evolves into a kleptocracy of oligarchs safeguarding the family jewels and state secrets until a rightful heir arrives and refreshes the tree of life.

Do what you want it's a free country but to not vote makes it less free to me. I stood at the sidelines for decades but now I vote. Nobody is a perfect candidate and they're NEVER will be.

well you'll excuse me if I think socialism and the people calling for it ARE the problem
the fact we have a police and fire department does not equal what's being called for
its the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy
all of us want a safety net for those in need but thanks to the gobsmacking smegma of every liberal everyone feels entitled to everything
I think this will make the French Revolution look like a tea party where we're headin
all in the name of equality
would pay attention if sanders, warpaint, dohbiden et al were actually breaking off some of their stacks
the design is to protect the family jewels by first throwing the rest of us to the wolves
just can't believe how many people are listening to this in a "free" country
name ONE thing the government has taken over or created and run well...always comes back as something worse
the answer is privatizing and maintaining free speech
everyone gets a job and realizes personal responsibility and freedom of their soul

    A long time ago.
But to me, we are so used to lies, on a day to day basis now, words, as the old caveat goes, will soon have no meaning.
It's either flat out lies, or self serving spin, so often and so flippantly spoken ( Trump's worst fault, imo), honor and integrity so rare, our young people have so little to look up to.
I guess it's my generation or individual personality, but I liken things to the lyrics of the old song, " rock and roll will never die, it is here to stay"...
Well, it did die. It didn't stay.
Along with so many other other things and endeavors that seemed so worth while.

So voting for someone that sickens your every fiber of being makes you more free ? You must be joking.

reagan was the last leader i felt good calling “my president”
a good man who wasn’t afraid to call people out...
but did so in a way so that progress could still be made (see gorbachev)
    he also seemed genuine
clinton was similar in someways but the mere fact he was married to pantsuit disqualifies him from being sane

There are other elections on the local level. Nobody says you have to vote every office or either a candidate for Pres for example. It's crazy to me to complain about current state of affairs and say I didn't vote to change it in some small way. There are many many examples of countries that have no voting processes in place and are repressed and not free and are eliminated for opposing opinions. Hate to bring the people have died for this stuff argument but they did and will continue to do so. Not passing a moral judgement in any way.

Sure, if you use perfection as a criteria. Everyone knows no one is perfect.
but to be forced, because of thinking it makes you free voting for vile people who nauseate you is...uh...with all due respect, fucking Nazi Germany.
Rather, to be able to look and walk away from the slime and core of corruption is what makes freedom.
    Real freedom, anyway.
It's my Right to vote. If I choose not to exercise that Right, for my own reasons, is every bit as valid as you feeling you have to.
It was my DUTY to serve my country in the military. I did that because I agreed with that.
But I'll be damed if I'm going to vote for either of two scumbags.

I respect your pov that we must vote to be just as correct as not voting. Time changes every heart and mind. You changed I've changed and we may change again.
Yet we are still the same.
We did not become part of the enemy just because we changed opinion.

Never consider a person an enemy unless they do deliberate harm to me, not worth it. Call it a pet peeve but if you don't vote and it turns out bad for you and your family don't complain is all. Disclaimer: Not directing previous comment on ANYONE here.
