    feel free to throw 'em all here

    i'll start it off...

    TRADE: hanley for tulo​
    both make $16MM this year​
    but rockies get to walk away from hanley after this year and (more importantly) the $118MM guaranteed to tulo through 2021​

    ​
    PRO(s): we get MLB's leading hitter, highest war, and best defensive shortstop (statistically)​

    ​
    CON(s): $118MM guaranteed through 2021​

    How about this:

    Yankees get: Hanley
    Rockies get: Stripling, Reed, Lee and top Yanks prospects
    We get: Tulo

    Long shot but I'm pretty sure the Rox got near nothing for Fowler so there's precedent

    Remember it was the Rockies that paid and then re-signed Helton again since he was their bigbest attraction...

    They'll pay Tulo and run him out there with 8 quadriplegics to keep them coming to that bandbox if they have to....

    In a perfect world, we trade for a good hitter.

    We don't need Price.

    If anything, I'd send out Patterson of Lee and dump Haren if anything if we are really desperate for a fifth starter.

    Price is a luxury. We need someone that won't choke when the bases are loaded and we have the pitchers spot up.

    I was thinking the other day that if we really wanted to get another starter (and I bet we will) what we could get in return for Dan Haren. Interesting case considering he's not exactly a rental with that vesting option. He isn't terrible and some teams could use him as a mid-rotation starter.

    Haren is traditionally a 2nd half pitcher so we will have to see but of course I'm not crazy enough to suggest he'll be great but I'm hopeful.
