Do you watch Dodger baseball? Bills is 26. His Era and Whip were the highest last season but to suggest he is not a legit number four with THOSE numbers is stupid. I do believe he will return to form this year. I also think that Capuano and Harang do well for us. I think Cap will be Wolf part II.

There will be ten approved to bid for the team and we should assume they all want to win. One will and nine will not. Why would they work to try to minimize their losing bid. These are men who made their money beating the competition to the draw. The winning bidder will want to pay the minimum amount they need to defeat the others but they are all expending time and money to put their bids together. they are not doing it to finish 2-10. They will compete and will suck up to Frank in the process since he is the one who will choose the winner. There will be guidelines established by Blackstone and violating them to screw Frank will probably not get you the franchise. Will be interesting to see what the minimum established bid will be and how many of the potential bidders are willing to jump in at that price point. Only takes two to have a competition. Fox has evidently established one bid at 1.2 billion and not sure they have or would say now or never since they want to buy the team and resell it to assure the media contract goes to them. Not sure why they would change in the future wanting that.

Unless they have pissed the as we all know vindictive bastard off. It is also suppose to be a secret process and failure to comply with that will piss Blackstone off and many of these bidders over lap with each other in the world of finance. Bud and MLB will want to maintain the integrity of the process for other auctions and to piss them off could probably guarantee the losers they will never be approved again to bid for a team. But then again perhaps all of these folks bidding hate Frank and are just waiting to piss on him and really aren't spending time and money on consultants and financial companies who are handling their bids. Do we really think folks like Torre, Magic, Broad and the many MLB related folks like Gilbert are going to violate the process with collusion on their parts?

not suggesting collusion. just saying its a fire sale with a time limit already imposed. none of these guys are going to overpay. i predict 875. and i'm pretty sure the mlb still has last say on who is chosen.

We can discuss for ever but there is a ton of documentation that in this case MLB will pre-approve ten teams and that includes the 2/3 or what ever approval by the other owners. It is all on Frank picking the ultimate winner. One of the previous linked articles has him turning down 1.2 billion from Fox which was offered in the mediation process. Frank wanted 2 billion and neither has yet made a counter offer so nothing has moved forward. Fox didn't want the team they were going to resell it and of course assure themselves the media rights in the process.

Buddy I hate to disagree, and even more so, I HATE to see McCrook make a fucking penny from pillaging the Dodgers for the past 8 years but in light of the current pools of hedge fund tools and other sharks that Blackstone has gathered I've got to say that $875M is waaay light. Like by half.

I hate it and will always call him Frank McCrook but it looks like people are lining up to suck him off and 'someone' is going to set a record paying him to be the new Dodger owner.

On a related note it's a shame so much of the ascribed value is tied to media rights since those are 'free' dollars paid by tomorrows advertisers, financed by consumers just like each of us.

Here we go about to get hosed again... thank you may I have another...

Yeah interesting how it became front burner and now the dollar amounts are being thrown about for all bidders to drool over.

talk is cheap and the interest is there because a lot of these guys think it will go cheap. and where were all these assclowns when fox sold to mcwhort?
say what you want about the value of the team but there are massive liabilities to clear here. these guys didn't get rich by overpaying for things.
guess we will all know soon enough. well maybe not soon enough.

So can McCourt sell the team before 4/30? Is there a good possibility of that happening?

I will tweet that to Shaikin (LA Times).

From what I understand he has to PICK an owner by April 1st, complete the sale by 30th. I;m curious as well if he can sell sooner, but I wouldn't count on it. Probably far fetched. Everything has dragged on so far, this should be no different :/.

So basically if he can't sell early then that's a 100% no on Fielder.
