he's playing all the angles but my money would be on him getting neither. if the sale price is considerably less than the inflated numbers the land is going to go regardless to satisfy creditors. and i don't see the courts tearing up his contract with fox. the fact that no one is concerned about it is simple. its not their money or problem. but that passivity shouldn't be construed as victory for spank.
He is not running the team, he is part of the ownership group just like any of the other ownership groups. Can you be sure none of them declared bankruptcy or had a shady financial deal in the past as well? I don't know where the idea of him being in complete control came from but that is wrong. Like I wrote before, I would be more concerned with ownership groups being funded by hedge fund owners or in risky industries than whether or not 1 person albeit one of the lead names has had a checkered past from 23 years ago. Unless of course we all want to go through this over again in 3 or so years. Just my .02.
its not that cut and dried man contracts have to be in good faith thats why ultimately he settled with his wife for 130M or whatever it was instead of going through the courts legally Jamie could have held out for more money, she legally could have gone for half of whatever Frank ends up with but he worked it out to end up with way more than 130M in his pocket if he gets his way effectively he has worked out a sweetheart deal for himself cut his divorce settlement and systematically removed Fox's allies from the equation ultimately the judge has to rule on the fairness of the Fox exclusivity clause if a contract is judged too be patently unfair or made under duress or using other coercive practices or a number of other scenarios... it can be ripped up specially if the contract is holding up proceedings for a big creditor list courts rip up small clauses in contracts like this all the time sections and subsections of contracts are often tossed aside when they are later put up to scrutiny in front of a judge the law was written for man, not man for the law
More maneuvering today. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/dodgers/2011/11/dodgers-filing-fox-tv-rights.html — Bill Shaikin
mccourt continues to troll us even after we celebrated. he just doesnt want to break even he wants some extra cash to go away forever.
I wonder if Selig has been going through the approval process for a new owner. I don't think there is any sort of formality, is there?
Great question. Not sure the process is that far along yet. Not sure Blackstone has submitted the sales package to prospective owners.
I wonder in this case which comes first. Approval or finding out the financial information etc to see if you want to buy the team.
I certainly hope they are moving things along on that front. I'd hate to think theses days are totally wasted waiting for some kind of resolution in the McCourt - Fox drama.
