Adam Carolla has been talking up this topic on his podcast this week. I had a three-hour drunken marathon convo about it back at Christmas. So, here's my entry... in 1984, I bought a 1970 Chevy Caprice, 4 door, 4 barrel Holley carburetor from an old couple in Fullerton hills. Cost? $500. Color? Faded navy blue. The thing was huge. I called it Das Boot. Blew out the head gasket after about a month. Repaired myself which took a week plus because I didn't know WTF I was doing. Had to use a Chilton book from the public library. It never ran well again. Sold it for $200 about four months later. Not my greatest moment. My dream car was an El Camino. Later it was a Corvette. Never did get either one. This is a clean version of my Caprice. Mine was not this clean, plus it didn't have stock hubcaps. So ... weigh in. What was your first car?
