http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/mlb/...rs-says-fans-media-create-unfair-expectations As a Yankee I feel I have to re-iterate this point once again. If this guy doesn't work out for the Dodgers, please let him come home to the Bronx.
cuz he was a Yankee... and as a Yankee, you cant be a Dodger cuz........ its like you take a Yankee and try to turn him, but you.......... imagine a current Yankee, say CC, then try to turn him into a Dodgers, the result.......... ok, I dont get it either...
Yeah...and Johnson, Russell, and any other AHole we've put there since Tommy left. WHAT'S YOU'RE POINT?
OK, ok... I just can't stand the Yankees... I look at DBB and I see him in those stupid fuckin pinstripes... Right, i know... I have some issues, but don't we all???
He's easy to first guess with his bad double switches, bunts, etc. but then again all he had was shit either way. Regardless, I like Donnie and I think his shortcomings will improve over time.
nothing... I thought the sarcasm was obvious... yes, we havent seen a good Dodger manager since Tommy left...
Whether you like/hate DBB for the fact that he was a NYY, he floundered after the initial surge of fabulousity last year, and made bonehead moves....rookie moves-even though he theoretically wasn't. He's got 2 years under his belt, and served plenty of time tuteledge under the great HoF manager, Joe Torre. (Possibly the most over rated manager ever in the history of BB). BTW, another NYY. Both great ballplayers. But that's all in the past now....we have entered a time now that we have a team that on paper, is better than anything we've thrown out there in years. All the gnawing weaknesses have pretty much been addressed, and I think this year and the team that goes out on the field each night, the SP and BP staff, will dictate DBB's mettle. If a guy like Davey Johnson can get MoY with a team like the Nats had (not my choice, no way), then it also works in reverse, too. How can DBB really fail with this 8 and pitching staff? At least something should be on tap, even the fourth WC , or whatever dilution douchebag Selig has come up with. He's got the ammunition, let's face it, let's see if he can shoot straight. If he can't finish in the money with this team, I'd love to see him in the Bronx, too. Forever. Or Indiana. And just as a reality check (and he was no idol of mine by any means), didn't the much hated, much maligned, Jim Tracy at least get to the playoffs with a very mediocre team? He may be floundering now, for sure....but what he did with us, with barely nothing, was a damn significant accomplishment, IMO. You can put whatever spin you want on it, but that's what I saw. I loathed the hand shaking LL ending after we lost, really douchebaggery at the highest, but at least we got there.
Just for the record. Torre is not a Yankee. In fact he never even played in the American League. That said, I can understand why as dodgers fans you wouldn't thrilled with dbb as your manager. It is in fact a large part if the reason I want dbb as my manager.
