If we're looking at Ellis and Stoudemire to fill out the roster how does that look to Kawhi. Iqqy won't be waived as well and oh yeah they have Jerry West and one of the richest owners. Am I super worried about the Clips NO but there is worry. Something else to keep in mind depending on the dates the deals are inked the Clips have more space then we will have to sign better complimentary players.
Clippers have a couple things on their side. Anonymity and irrelevance. If Kawhi wants to hide, they're perfect. Nobody's gonna give a rat's ass about him or the Clippers with LeBron/AD in purp/gold. Win, lose or draw, Lakers are leading off every sports based TV program every day. If Kawhi is really trying to get his brand off the ground, Clippers are not it. Not for him. His personality/persona needs a Laker boost.
And definitely not worried about a team with nothing but complementary players adding more complementary players.
If it makes you feel any better, there will also reportedly be 5-10 teams in attendance to watch them work out
Hopefully the Grizz are just playing hardball with Iggy But Houston was heavily interested in Iggy 2 or 3 years back and they're desperate for leadership, may well have real interest in trading for him Whatever the case, Iggy is going to need super load management..more than anybody
The funny and hypocritical about the Bay Area’s reaction to KD signing with the Nets is that ALOT of people were moaning and bitching about KD’s lack of loyalty after GS’ teammates did all they could to make KD feel like the man. Meanwhile, they trade away Iggy after he took less to stay with the team years ago. Not a peep about lack of loyalty from the team about Iggy. This while the Bay Area sports hacks were saying before the trade how GS was still more stacked than the Lakers even if we got KL because they had Klay, Draymond, Steph AND Iggy, and they would trot that lineup against anyone in the WC. Hypocritical does not begin to explain what’s going on in the Bay Area right now.
Justin Holiday now receiving interest from LAL. Another thing to take into account..while Kawhi is actually in Toronto with those rabid fans, it may actually be smart to give them some hope, at least if he doesn't know what he's doing yet. Would you want it leaking that you're not coming back while in the very city that you're leaving? Jalen might have done him a favor yesterday..Cris Carter saying its wide open helps too. I'm sure the OJ chase didn't make things easy yesterday
They're taking all sorts of losses in the Bay. It's been one bad headline after another..Luke and his sex assault case from his time with GSW, the co-owner trying to fight Lowry, the injury misdiagnosis regarding Durant, Durant leaves, Iggy torches their medical staff. That dynasty went down in flames..and I think they're staying down, especially this year. They are spent emotionally and physically. History says they're done, they had their run and it's over.
Someone tipped off the press in Toronto about his caravan and where the meeting with the FO was taking place. How does a helicopter know where to look and when. How did the press lie in wait for KL at the hotel. Someone leaked it, and it’s gotta be someone in the Toronto camp.
On top of the fact that the Gnats are an abortion of a team and have been for 4 years now (not to mention that wife beating co-owner, Larry Baer, is being slowly stripped of his responsibilities with the team). Things are so bad, they are going to retire the jersey of a player that dumped them in FA, in a new billion dollar plus stadium he never got to play in as a Warrior.
From what I heard, even before the meeting took place, is that Drake either had all that set up and/or leaked it. Drake was said to have something special waiting for Kawhi. Maybe it was the offer to exec-produce his album, but maybe it was all of the above too?
I'm here for all of it. They talked a lot of shit about being light years ahead of everyone else. Looks like they're coming from behind now. The only thing I hate is that Klay has to go down with them. That guy is great
Agree with all of that except the wife beating tag on Baer. Much ado about very little. Talk about a lack of loyalty. The way the Giants treated one of the most important figures in their team's history (he was the driving force behind the new ballpark) was disgraceful.
Yeah but he lost his cool in public and not in a good way. The optics are bad, especially in a hyper PC environment of the Bay Area and especially SF.
I would not mind a bunch of old ex stars to play big minutes on days the Big 3 takes time off to keep fresh. For the fans. The big 3 guys are going to take lots of days off or games where they keep their minutes down. So having a bunch of 'stars' will help make the game interesting for the casual fan that likes to see starpower on the court. Last we saw Amare he looked like he was good for 18 minutes and get you 8 points and 8 boards with a block. What if he improved his jumper and healed up his body during the time off? Same with Monta... in this current style of play Montas size defensively is not such an issue. And if he comes back with a better 3 point shot he would be instant offense. PG: LeBron, Caruso SG: Kawhi, Monta SF: Kuzma, Vince PF: Davis, Melo C: Boogie, Amare
