U.S. born players for the most part don't revere playing for their countries as much as the other players. It's sad.

I just think this season is the perfect storm for the Dodgers and if there was a season to take the WBC off and get to camp early, and stay all spring, it is this year. Especially for a guy who's had 2 down years offensively (for him) and is just unbelievably bad defensively. He has great coaches at his disposal and should be in Arizona--not DHing in the WBC and making errors every time he gets an inning in the field.

The Dodgers have invited 17 non-roster players to Spring Training, including infielder Brian Barden and catchers Ramon Castro and Eliezer Alfonzo, the club announced. The trio were signed to minor league contracts within the last two months.

Hanley could stand at SS with a brick for a glove and blinders on and he wouldn't be as annoying defensively as Dee.

Unlike all of the other Dodgers who think ST meaningless... this is a good move by Ryu. A good sign. A good sign that he can already talk out both sides of his mouth...

Maybe, but I'm just saying foreigners revere playing for their countries more than we do. National pride is more important to them. Plus your not going to tell HanRam not to play and risk alienating him. We need him mentally the entire season to reach he ultimate goal which obviously is our 1st title in 25 years!

If Hanley needs any more motivation to play well these next 2 years, it should be that if he can get back to .290-25-90 he will still be young enough to get a 5 or 6 year deal worth around $100M.

If the Dodgers decide they don't want to bring him back, Elvis Andrus will be a free agent at the same time.

So he will kick ass for the better part of 6 months, we will give him an extension, he will be banned for a number of games and will hit like shit for the rest of his contract.

I will say it. Give him a fucking invite The more the merrier.

Mark Prior hasn't given up on his goal of returning to the Major Leagues as he's working on strengthening his shoulder in hopes of receiving an invitation to Spring Training, says David Kaplan of CSNChicago.com. Currently in the best shape of his life according to reports, Prior spent the 2012 season at Triple-A Pawtucket as a member of the Red Sox organization before being released in August. For more on Prior, Doug Miller of MLB.com takes an in-depth approach to telling the past and present story of the former sensation's life on both a professional and personal level.

    • Uribe makes the list again in an attempt to avoid a complete three-year bust. Management no longer expects him to be an everyday third baseman, but hopes that upcoming free agency will inspire him to remember how to hit. At his best, he would be a candidate to back up both corner infield spots.

I'll admit, I'd like to keep Uribe on the team to see if McGwire can do anything for him

If he has a bad spring I would release him. I know spring stats don't mean anything but he doesn't have any leverage.
