    Skin does nothing.
    But skin is a flag, a symbol.
    You use flags to tell one thing from another.
    There are many flags.
    Skin color is just one of them.
    Nationality is another.
    Culture too.

    We know that Joc has had more and better training than Puig in the OF.
    We know that Joc has had more and better training than Puig at hitting.
    Actually 'we' as in 'I' dont know shit about any of that.
    All i know is where Joc came from, his color, his culture, his markers.
    Same with Puig.
    And through that you can make rudimentary (yes, basic) assumptions that you can use when making broad generalizations about a player or players.
    But for most players and in most cases and for most situations broad basic rudimentary markers are the most accurately descriptive.

    joc is the better cf
    that is all
    puig is the better athlete and, arguably, the better player
    puig is darker, joc is fatter lol
    they both like ice cream, puig has a better metabolism
