It's gonna cost a year of Hamilton (just an example) just to talk to the kid. Which is ridic. Boras is saying he throws mid 90s, which is a lie. You don't have to throw extremely hard to have a good career, but 25.7 M just to negotiate with a ______ tossing lefty? I hope that breaking ball and plus change up really is as devastating as they say. Because he looks like a fat Lilly/Cap to me. 25 isn't super young. The guy is what he is. And I don't think he's worth the Darvish/Cespedes/Puig treatment. Nothing about this kid overwhelms me. I will not say this is a good or bad deal if it goes through until he pitches. I never said I didn't like this. I said I'm not too high on him. It's just not an overwhelming talent, and that's probably why nobody even talks about it. I'm kind of afraid to dislike anything nowadays. It's like Lilly going 5 starts without giving up a HR, and then the second he gives one up, it's like he's giving them up non stop. I've been on board with pretty much everything this off season. I'm allowed to not be crazy about this. Lol
Yeah Boras and the fat Korean can go fuck themselves if they want too much money. None of these Asian pitchers turn out awesome anyways. Like holy shit, Dice-K was the shit over there. He comes here and has 1 good season. Besides Kuroda, and a couple years of Nomo (Darvish has potential as well), you don't really see much consistency from these pitchers.
Not so sold on this guy. Why pay about $70M total for 4 years of this guy when you can get a proven MLB pitcher for less than that?
Can't forget about Saito. I just don't think these Asain pitchers are worth the money. Some have decent careers, but none of them really have turned into stars.
agreed although i think darvish has a shot better mechanics than most asian pitchers wouldn't mind getting hiku back for a season and tbh i don't care that much about having to give up a draft pick to get him
