Please excuse me guys I'll do my homework... ok... April 8 AZ was 3-0 and Dodgers suffered first lost to go 3-1; April 10 it was 4-0 vs 4-1; by April 11 we were 5-1 and AZ was 4-1. OK so we were out of first place for 3 days... shit that screws up the entire season... LOL
In 2009 we were 1 GB on April 13, went into 1st place on April 15th and never looked back. I couldn't find a season where the Dodgers have "technically" ever gone wire-to-wire in first place. In 1955 they started the season 0.5 games out only because of the schedule, went 10-0 in their first 10 games and never looked back. This season, of course, we've already spent a few days out of first.
http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/BRO/1955-schedule-scores.shtml 1955 we were .5 out for the first two games of the season (even though we won). After that we were in first the whole way. Even won the WS to cap it off.
Offense (NL rank): 6th in BA (.260), T3 in OBP (.333), 6th in SLG (.400). 3rd in BA w/ RISP (.278), 1st in OBP w/ RISP (.394), 5th in SLG w/ RISP (.395). Pitching (NL rank): 4th in ERA (2.98), 2nd in BAA (.208), 4th in WHIP (1.16). 11th [ouch!] in RP ERA (3.84), but 3rd in RP BAA (.213) and 4th in RP WHIP (1.25).
1955. Technically we were .5 out before our first game, but our winning % would have had us in first since we started 10-0. So 1955 we went wire to wire. Only time as far as I can tell.
AZ won today. I hope we find a way to add a bat. Desperate for one. I want Oswalt. Why did we need to sign Harang again?
Win the next 2 against this shit Cubs team man. Then PROVE to the VaGiants we're for real and separate.
Not that Brown the lesser can coach worth a shit but it's nice to see the Lakers feed the Bigs... who really cannot be defended by 6'8" players
