The Blake Snell story didn't have a happy beginning in SF. Meanwhile in San Diego, Darvish still doesn't have a win but the Padres just scored 9 unanswered runs to come back from an 0-8 deficit. Why couldn't the Cubs bp fold like that against us?

my security guy was dialing new cameras to interface w my cable and while we hanging out talking he asked a baseball question which he never had before
then he said he had dropped a bet on KC today and they would be winning against the basstros
told him he was lucky and then he pointed out the cheaters are 4 and 9, now 10
sure hope everything falls apart in houston

Hopefully this isn't as bad as it sounds, but Buehler got hit on his pitching hand by a batted ball tonight. He finished the inning but left after 2 innings and 27 innings. This was his 3rd rehab start and the plan was 80-90 pitches.

As if the state of the injuries, with a staffful of starters already down at the get go, now the plague of Dodger starter injuries has now commenced as usual.
Lots of chinks in the armor showing up from last year's top performers, and a patchwork ( just seems like it to me...maybe other teams would love to have it) starting staff, and the little Yamamoto super pitcher guy less than overwhelming, imo, we'd better hit the ball like there's no tomorrow.
    Thank all dieties for Glasnow.
Oh, and I hope the methods that Robots is using with Outman doesn't start wearing on this kid's head...although I think it naturally would at least put a question in there. Idk.

My idol was Duke Snider, as a kid, and still is. I feel privileged to have seen them both he and Jackie play, even shaking the Duke's hand.
I've read many things over the years about Jackie Robinson, and what he meant the Dodgers, baseball and more importantly and ultimately, America itself...but, for me, when you think about the multiple aspects of what he accomplished, the Duke said it simply the best...

From today's Athletic on Miller's injury (good news)..........

For now, the Dodgers are relieved when it comes to their young star, Bobby Miller. For the long term, however, a familiar portrait may have had its first few brushstrokes.

The Dodgers built this rotation with a delicate balancing act. The talent is there. The track record of staying healthy is not. And despite encouraging as much rest as possible for each of their starters, they received a stark reminder of how futile that can be in putting Miller on the injured list Saturday.

The 25-year-old, who was the hardest-throwing starter in the sport who hadn’t gotten hurt, has complained of discomfort in his right shoulder for weeks. The sensation was essentially the same as typical early-season soreness, the type of thing that shut down Miller for all of 2023 spring training before he rattled off 124 1/3 big-league innings last year without issue. This time, it hasn’t gone away. He struggled to recover between starts, and within them (including his last two outings when he allowed seven runs in 5 2/3 innings) he showed atypically poor command and an inability to finish off his secondary offerings.

An MRI revealed no structural damage. The ailment didn’t necessitate an injection or any procedure. That brings relief. So, too, does the expected timeline — both Miller and Roberts were hopeful Miller could resume throwing in as soon as five to seven days, which would mitigate any sort of build-up period that would prolong his absence.

“It’s nothing crazy,” Miller said Sunday. “I’m going to be back and I’m going to be good

My takeaway from that is season-ending surgery is imminient for Miller

I wish you were wrong ... but you will be 100%, dead-on balls accurate.

PCL Players-of-the-Year come around all the time, apparently.

It just kills me that we keep re-signing old retreads like Kaylor and Kike, yet we give up on this guy after a half season of limited ABs at the Major League level.
