    True on long-term memorabilia value. I taught with a guy in Colorado who is from Edmonton. He got Gretzky to sign two game used pucks in his rookie season there. That was long ago and this guy is waiting for those pucks to cross the $100K line. He may have to wait for Wayne to die but I think he'll get close to that. Shrewd money, that.

    So apparently there's more to the story on Ohtani's first Dodger home run ball. Now the fan is alleging that the Dodgers strongarmed her into agreeing to hand it over, and she says she didn't get fair value back. That's pretty shitty if true.

    Definitely cool. But that "slide" into second was brutal- sent the Braves SS off the field on a stretcher. Man the game has changed.

    So apparently a signed Shohei foul ball from last season fetched $15k at auction. Some are saying this ball is already worth 6 figures. You've got to remember, it's not just the mania here, but also in Japan that is throwing fuel on this fire.

    Anyhow, the story is growing. Now the fan claims that security kept threatening that they wouldn't authenticate the ball if she didn't hand it over.

    If it's any consolation, one estimate is that the signed ball, two signed hats, and signed bat they gave her could go for about $15k, combined.

    Honestly, she’s a dumbass if true. Seems pretty simple to me - you record the conversation on your phone, show your face (since we all got a good glimpse on live TV) then just hit up the MLB directly to get it authenticated.

    I was in the shower washing my balls when the. earthquake hit...first in NJ since 1888 of that magnitude. Too much info? Possibly, but true.
    So...my balls are worth 14 mil, conservatively, I figure.

    what’s she’s alleging (emphasis on alleging) is that security separated her from her husband and forced her to give up the ball (for less), saying it wouldn’t be authenticated unless she did (as they said)
    here’s where the dumbass part kicks in…
    she had the ball, so she had all the leverage
    she should have told them to go feck themselves and then gone public with her allegations
    but since she didn’t, it’s her feckin fault
