It's definitely a small sample and coincidence plays a large part in it. I agree 100%. But ideally, IMO, the Wild Card winning a WS should be a novelty that rarely ever happens. The new playoff format hurts Wild Cards. I'm not a fan of expanding the playoffs and diminishing the importance of a 162 game season, but I think this expansion actually makes the 162 game season that much more important. Winning your division is now more important. Having the best record in the league is actually more important too. Wild Cards are now no longer on the same playing field as division winners, making wild cards just that - wild.
like i said before i'm torn on playoff expansion that being said if you're going to let someone into the postseason it should be on an even playing field you're either in or you're out a one game playoff is a joke shit, if they're going to expand, how about 3 wild card teams all playing the division winners fuck greater emphasis on winning the division it's all about october... or november... or december...
Disagree - I don't think Wild Cards deserve an even playing field. Agree - A one game playoff is a joke. However, so are Wild Card teams. If the shoe fits... I see where you're going with this and I think it is extremely important to avoid an NBA-like joke of a postseason. Baseball should never be played in November (nor on Halloween). The longest season in all of sports should be honored with an exclusive postseason. I don't really love 10 teams making the postseason, but in an odd way I like it better than the current 8 team system. A one-game playoff is a joke, but is it any worse than 2 teams being tied going into the final game of the season, after playing an unbalanced 162 game schedule, and the wild card being determined by one team's ability to beat the Phillies vs another team's ability to beat the Astros? At least they get to play each other in that one game.

lol and in a related story -- prison isn't that bad... once you get past being incarcerated and the fear of being shanked or ass-raped :camping:
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/03/quick-hits-abreu-.html The Abreu deal between the Anals and Indians fell apart. As Doyer and I said, he is a very good fit for the Dodgers. Hopefully we can figure something out and get him.
Ubaldo threw at Tulo today. Tulo charged the mound http://espn.go.com/mlb/spring2012/s...dians-drills-troy-tulowitzki-colorado-rockies back story is Ubaldo complained about not getting an extension like tulo and cargo, and tulo pretty much said quit crying
ubaldo is a fucken punk it's one thing to plunk someone to protect/defend your teammates but quite another to do so for selfish reasons "wahhhh, cargo and cargo got fat contracts and i didn't..." paraphrasing tiger woods a couple of years ago, "you want to get paid more, play better." props to jim tracy for backing his guy andslamming jimenez
what's depressing is someone wanting to be a cincinnati red for life all about the benjamins for votto
Dodgers sell their team to Magic and moments later every team wants to make sure to sign their star long-term Coincidence? Nah, dude
