I feel like how Yankee fans felt when we locked up Kemp, with Votto they were already fitting him for pinstripes and I was hoping Votto became too expensive for CIncy after the Prince/Pujols deals
If Votto signs the Reds have zero money for Brandon Philips, so it's ok with me. I'd rather have Votto, easily, but it is what it is.
Today fucking blows, we finally have money and the stars are re-signing. Fully expecting Cole Hamels to re-sign with the phillies by the end of this post.
I actually see a light at the end of the tunnel. We get to resign Dre, grab a Napoli type, and Cole is somewhere smiling. Let's face it, Napoli solves two problems. Dre is the best out there outside of Hamilton who is a year older and as injury prone (but has more power). If we are keeping Dre, we could easily grab BJ Upton. No, he is not his brother but he is a good player about to hit his prime. Let at his numbers and imagine him protected by Kemp. No, there is not a premier hitter out there next year. However, there are three or four guys who could be very serious role players. I say let Sands spend his time in AAA figuring it out or making himself trade bait. We need offense. We are pitcher heavy. Yes, we need premier pitchers. We need ONE. Most teams would kill for an ace. We could have two with two young guys who are easily number 2s in a year or two. Try this on for size: Gordon/Ethier/Kemp/Napoli/Upton--Sands/Loney--Sands/Uribe-Fields/Ellis-Sellers Kershaw/Hamels/Bills/RDLR/Eovaldi
10/225 for Votto kemp's deal looks better every day prince, pujols, votto got paid Red Sox have to like locking up Gonzo too. he got 150M
Dodgers are the winners here. Our CENTER FIELDER received less than two first basemen and he is not out there for 9-10 years. Anyone can play first. Try playing Votto or Fielder in center.
He's looked foolish on some ABs, but fuck does he have power. http://oakland.athletics.mlb.com/ml...oak#gid=2012_04_06_seamlb_oakmlb_1&mode=video
