The money that opens up when Adrian retires should be used to add a real 2/3 spot vet hitter that's been around the block..one that's used to MVP expectations and used to getting a gang of attention.
Preferably, I'd target Votto..dude is just a hitting savant and LAD needs somebody like that who can rub off on Seager, Bellinger, and Joc moving forward.
Votto has the crazy contract, but he'd still be terrific for our young left handed hitters to watch on a daily basis, so plenty of residual value to gain and JT can fall back into a more suitable supporting role as well.
And the crazy contract could aid in getting him for less in spec value.
If not Votto, maybe Josh Donaldson will be an option since Toronto has been looking to deal him.
Can't really do anything with Kershaw, may just have to let his contract expire and watch him go to Texas..which is crazy to say, but they can continue to pour more into the offense and develop there.

 

Well on our way though. Honestly, if we pull a Braves with 13 division titles, 5 NL pennants and only 1 WS championship... it will be a fail. At our current pace we will fall short of that too.
