Headline article on MLB Trade rumors Phillies Could Be "Most Active Sellers" By Steve Adams [July 29, 2012 at 7:58pm CST] The Phillies entered this weekend needing to perform well in a critical series against the division rival Braves. Instead, they were swept and now appear to be in the position to sell off several pieces. ESPN's Buster Olney tweets that the Phillies could be baseball's "most active sellers" in the next two days, and that they've laid the groundwork for several trades. Olney's colleague Jayson Stark hears from several teams that the Phillies could make 2-3 trades prior to Tuesday's deadline, though they've yet to officially declare themselves sellers (Twitter link). CSNPhilly.com's Jim Salisbury agrees that selling is likely, and runs down several of the possibilities for the Phillies in the coming days. Salisbury writes that Shane Victorino is the "most likely" Phillie to be dealt, and lists the Giants, Pirates, Reds and Dodgers as possible destinations for Victorino. Interest in Victorino was said to be "heating up" as recently as yesterday. The Reds have also inquired on Juan Pierre, and both the Orioles and Cardinals are potential destinations for Joe Blanton according to Salisbury. He also says that Hunter Pence could be moved if GM Ruben Amaro Jr. is blown away by an offer, and speculates that Ty Wigginton would fit on several teams looking for bench help. Salisbury reiterates that the Phillies are likely to keep Cliff Lee for the time being, although he could be shopped this offseason in an attempt to fill multiple holes.
Shin-Soo Choo is available. we'd be amazing with him. but i dont know if we could get it done Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal Hearing Price for #Indians' Choo is a major leaguer - a good one - with less than three years service time. Choo free agent after 2013.
That's really interesting, I would love Choo. He's as good as Pence if not better....wonder if we'd have anything to match up for a deal
OK, I have a legal update from the Giant series. All sexual assault charges pending from yesterday have been dropped. The Dodgers and the Giants reached agreement before the game that in exchange for being used by the Dodgers in a more reasonable way today all charges would be dropped. The Giants agreed to casual consensual sex in order to avoid yesterdays banging by the big as in big boys (Kemp and Hanley Ram). In exchange sexual activity was between the smaller but still potent Kershaw, Cruz and Loney. The Giants agreed to manual release and as the game was winding down Kershaw gently pushed their heads down from the back to his ....... Melkey and they call him the milk man for a reason started the dramatic climax to the game and like a sweet Angel Pagan finished it off. Unfortunately Buster tried to push back up but Angel just submitted and gave us our agreed upon conclusion and reward. Several Giants were heard uttering as they left the stadium that they could get use to this. The final terms also included that the Dodgers did not have to call tomorrow morning and say anything other than hey Bitches wait til the next time when we bring some more studs to the game. Tuborg is a weird dude. Is he from LA? Would make for an interesting Lair event. I expect him to bring hookers and LSD.
Sad too see Victorino still being floated around. After the Marlin trade it was always going to be downhill, but was expecting us to aim a little higher.
SAN FRANCISCO -- After beating the Giants on Sunday, the Dodgers got more good news as pitchers Ted Lilly and Rubby De La Rosa made impressive Minor League rehab appearances. Lilly, recovering from a sore shoulder, and De La Rosa, in his first real game since last year's Tommy John elbow reconstruction, each pitched two scoreless innings, each allowing one hit and one walk. Lilly struck out one, De La Rosa fanned three. Both pitchers could be called up during August or September in either a starter or reliever role.
Are there going to be any new Dodgers in the next 48 hours? If so, who will they be? How am I supposed to work, eat, sleep or do anything else knowing the Dodgers might be making more trades before the deadline? I'm going to have to sacrifice sleep for couple of days in case another 11 o'clock trade goes down like the HanRam one. I want to know about it the second it happens. If a trade happens during my working hours then my work performance is going to suffer that day because the Dodgers getting better is more important than work. Not really. But you get what I'm saying.
Giants heavily involved with Broxton. I was a Brox supporter, but god do I hope that shit happens so we can light his ass up.
