Should we/do we need to recruit some new good posters? I know it is probably the quietest time of the year in baseball and so there isn't much to talk about, but I feel like the forum needs some new life. Seems like we have lost quite a few posters and our numbers are starting to dwindle. What are your thoughts?
i don't know if dodger posters are dwindling. i think its just the off season. and there are other sections of this board to check out.
I think it's a combination of a lot of things. I personally like using my phone to check DSP at almost any opportunity...in line...doctors office...work break...stop light...class...so I frequently check. When there is a bold thread I open it and drop a line. I don't use Twitter, Instagram, I don't update my status, so I just have DSP as my homepage and when I open the internet it's already there. People probably just like looking sometimes. I try to drop a line to keep it active. You'll see a thread with 99 views and 4 replies sometimes, so people are in. It's the offseason and not much is going on, but there is still conversation to be had. An example would be our stadium is being torn to pieces and remodeled with over the top high def screens everywhere and nobody has anything to say about it.
SDF sometimes makes long elaborate threads about payroll and players and nobody says anything. Just an example again. I think we all kinda have the same views and follow our team so well already we don't need/want to get into elaborate discussions and just like joking around and venting about games. I treat DSP more like texting than I do sports posting. I just see a bold thread (equivalent of a text) and say something...only difference is on here I say shit about players dying
I think we could use some fresh blood, but I would recommend going with a refral system (invite friends of yours who are Dodgers fan) rather than an open invite... Open invites bring people like Living Legend and some of the morons that live in PSD.
^ hell, i even encourage the morons seems we're all pretty good at self-policing if somebody steps out of line
He does and they do not. I assume that it is one of two things. Either people are agreeing with me completely and cannot offer further thought or they think I am a windbag who needs a new hobby. I guess recruiting would be okay but I think we have seen what happens when someone tries to mesh with our little group. Those that come in have to fit. THAT is the most difficult part.
