Dunno. I just heard it might happen but I'm also 5000+ miles away, so anything is possible rumor wise.

Dealing? Where? Not much has happened of significance other than the 4 guys who weren't even on our radar. You also have to take into account the rule 5 draft where we have to protect our best eligible prospects. Every team is basically filling out depth as well. Winter meetings is next weekend that is where the wheeling and dealing will occur.

And just like clockwork the A's trade Donaldson for 3 players. With the Jays signing Martin, they seem to be dealing.

The Marlins getting aggressive with Stanton, Giants talking to Lester, the Red Sox getting both Hanley and Sandoval, what is your definition of not dealing?

Why does anyone think something is different from the trade deadline. Do you not think any discussion of a trade with us doesn't begin with us giving them Urias, Pederson, Seeger, Kemp or one of our other prime prospects. They still want us to overpay and we have limited chips to work with. All of the talk about us NEEDING to trade one of our outfielders and now as a result of a few writers teams now think the can get Kemp and probably on the cheap as we will soon be desperate to make a trade and create space. We did win over 90 games each of the last two years and won the division comfortably. The issue was the bull pen and that may already have been addressed. The lack of acquiring players may be the best thing as it leaves space for us to use some of the young guns that have been blocked by Ned's over age 33 projects. We have a need at shortstop and perhaps, just perhaps another RH power bat to replace hanley. As others have said the prime thing now is protecting players from the rule 5 draft. Martin would have been nice at catcher but not at the salary he got. There is not much else at catcher and again other teams probably want us to overpay however with the regime they know it ain't Ned they are dealing with anymore. Give it time as they are still evaluating Joc and is he major league ready and not needing a space for right now.

You named 1 team. All those guys who signed weren't in our plans anyway. Most of the MLB has been talking Lester and even if the Giants sign Lester they still are way short on pitching AND are further weakened by the loss of Pablo. Technically speaking we have been dealing just not of the sexy names YET but as I have been contending ever since they were compiling the FO, that it'll take time to truly know our organization. Countdown to the winter meetings is 7 days.

    • The Orioles have talked to the Dodgers about Matt Kemp [IMG], sources tell Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (on Twitter). The O’s are lining up alternatives in case they can’t re-sign Nick Markakis and/or Nelson Cruz, but they could also be trying to create leverage to pressure both into staying. As Rosenthal has said before, a Markakis return once appeared to be a foregone conclusion, but that’s no longer the case.

the article is actually covers all the NL west teams
this is just the dodgers portion...

NL West clubs expected to be big Hot Stove players
    by Ken Gurnick | MLB.com -- 3 hours ago

The first few weeks of the Hot Stove season have been busy, but there is still plenty more action to come.

In the NL West, the top headlines have involved players leaving the division, namely Pablo Sandoval and Hanley Ramirez, and the biggest name joining the group is Cuban slugger Yasmany Tomas, who agreed to terms with the D-backs on a six-year, $68 million deal Wednesday. The Padres have made noise about spending big under new GM A.J. Preller, while the new regime in Colorado is also in the spotlight. Of course, there will likely be news made by the defending division champs in Los Angeles and the defending World Series champs in San Francisco.

As we recover from our collective turkey coma, here's a look at where every team in the NL West stands right now as the Winter Meetings slowly become visible above the horizon.

    LOS ANGELES DODGERS

    WHAT THE DODGERS HAVE DONE

The big moves so far have been in the front office and not the clubhouse, with the hirings of Andrew Friedman, Farhan Zaidi, Josh Byrnes, Gabe Kapler and Billy Gasparino, among others. They inherited a 94-win team that has lost nine free agents, led by Ramirez and including pitchers Josh Beckett, Paul Maholm, Chris Perez, Jamey Wright and Roberto Hernandez.

The new management team has focused on making incremental improvements to pitching depth, with middle reliever Joel Peralta the key acquisition to date. Additionally, the Dodgers have acquired Mike Bolsinger and Juan Nicasio, pitchers designated for assignment by division rivals, but they also moved 100-mph reliever Jose Dominguez in the Peralta deal. They haven't aggressively pursued any of the big-market free agents.

WHAT THE DODGERS STILL NEED TO ADDRESS

The club needs to replace Ramirez's bat and figure who to plug into his starting shortstop job, which will not necessarily be the same player, as they have defensive-oriented options in-house.

These two decisions are likely to be linked to which outfielder the club can trade and what the return will be. In addition to resolving shortstop and the jam in the outfield, management has talked about obtaining a proven arm to be the fifth starter and a catcher with offensive tools to provide an option if A.J. Ellis struggles again at the plate. They have been linked to Phillies ace Cole Hamels. Picking up the remaining $90 million on his contract doesn't seem to mesh with the new business model, especially for a club that already has a pair of aces, but CEO Stan Kasten does like to stockpile starting pitching.

I'd ask for Wieters and Britton, just because we signed Britton's brother. But I don't even want to trade Kemp, so fuck that.

Orioles make sense as a suitor for Kemp..behind Seattle, SD, Houston, NYM, and possibly Detroit. the first 4 teams have far more to offer and the O's would probably require serious cash kicked in.

White Sox probably have a decent level of interest, but they don't have enough that'd interest LAD..anything that they'd be willing to part with that is. their farm is ass.

gonna be a tough market to deal in regardless because of all the outfielders that are available.
