just seems odd there's only one guy -- an unknown guy -- reporting it
not saying it's bullshit but just weird no one else is running with it

It sounds like the Dodgers and Pollock may be closing in on a deal...

I have a hard time understanding this whole thing and I agree with you. The Braves were caught fairly quickly, this thing would now be YEARS old and impact the MLB roster. Like you said, this sounds more like prior regime hired folks that caused the problems so who knows what they could be thinking. Friedman is also one of their poster boys, I have a hard time seeing them ban him or others associated with his brass.

Pollock is fine, if it's on a 3-year deal, the depth (3 other guys who can play a capable CF) makes him a viable option, perhaps they could keep him rested as he wouldn't be looked at as the 3rd best player on the team like he was in AZ.

Hey lets get rid of Puig because he sucked vs lefties last year and is coming up on FA.
Hey lets get Pollock because he sucked vs lefties last year and is a currently a FA.
But Pollock plays pretty good CF.
And Puig is baseballs best RF.
But Puig is gonna be a FA and demand a multiyear contract.
And Pollock who is older is about to get a multiyear contract.

I take signing Pollock as a replacement for moving Puig.
And it might mean that Verdugo is on the move too.

IMO no to pollock he is at an age we’re you begin to decline.

Mehchado is my choice for the rh bat. He should get better as he learns the league imo

In fact getting Pollock might be the lowkey steal of the FA class.
Specially if the Dodgers manage to be the mystery team that brings in Manny at a better price than anticipated since his market was not on the Bryce level.

Pollock hit righties very well but sucked vs lefties last year. He has hit lefties well and very well in the past.
His injuries have been mostly upper body stuff. His arms and his hands. That bodes well for his ability to keep up defensively in CF and have the wheels to complement his good baserunning instincts.
He has lost a little bit with age but is still capable.
Having him as the CF going into next year gives you most likely the play of a steady Lorenzo Cain like veteran. Or you can also possibly even get you a few Charlie Blackmon type seasons out of Pollock.
At worst he is a not fat Joc Pederson.

One thing you can say about Pollock is that he does seem like a pro. I was going to say a bunch of other cliches but what I probably should just say is that he's a good ol' solid white player you can count on.

    Professional hitting lineup?

    CF: Pollock
    SS: Seager
    3B: Turner
    1B: Freese
    C : Realmuto
    2B: Muncy
    RF: Bellinger
LF: Davey's Choice Grab Bag Matchup Special

Pollock will cost Lorenzo Cain money or less.
Cain went cheap last year and then he even outperformed his contract proving the deal to be a steal.
Pollock has the opportunity to be the same type of deal.
Seems its what the Dodgers FO would jump on.

    Both then.
You know why I like Pollock?
He will be cheap relatively speaking.
Always good to have those types of guys to put around your lineup.
You can't have 30M guys everywhere, you need some 15M a year type guys too.

It would be nice if you could get Manny for 25M a year for 8 years will take him to age 34.

    CF: Pollock
    1B: Seager
    3B: Turner
    SS: Manny
    C : Realmuto
    RF: Bellinger
    2B: Muncy
    LF: Joc/Taylor

    There we go.

If we can amend this lineup once more, put the pitcher before Cody.

    • The Dodgers and White Sox are said to have had talks for Joc Pederson according to a contributor for MinorLeagueBall.com.
    • Turtleneck is reporting the Dodgers have expressed interest in reuniting with Manny Machado this week. No word on a contract offer.
