Knowing Kershaw, he will opt out, look for an extension, but will be unsigned for a long time, before he accepts less than he hoped by some desperate team not called the Dodgers.

There have been many articles written this year that teams are very wary of big contracts to players at Kershaw’s stage. That is why FAs this past off season waited unusually long before getting signed.

It just makes sense. Back end of those contracts have killed some teams.

I think we’ve seen the last of Kershaw in LA, but it’s also just time to move on.

Love the reference but if a Texas team offers him something I think he'll take a cut even though I voted, opts out and re-signs.

Kershaw signs with the Cardinals and shuts us down in the NLDS

It would match our luck in the post season.

If they use the savings to go get Harper and another star, I hope we walks.
If the F.O. is going to sit on their hands and do nothing, I hope he doesn't opt out and we can have him for nostalgia.
As long as he is no longer treated like a superstar and doesn't prevent us from making other movies, I'm good.

If the FO doesn’t spend this off season, that whole getting underneath the luxury tax was a scam.

We Dodger fans can be gluttons for punishment sometimes.

I'm a Doc guy so crucify away. I hope he stays because 2 straight appearances in a WS is as rare as it gets so fuck y'all if you disagree. :hide:

I sense they are going for quantity rather than the 1 HUGE FA.

Who knows, maybe Kershaw will thrive and have a rebirth, not being "The guy" any more? I'd rather it be here, but at a reasonable number.

lowkey off-season trade target: Whit Merrifield of the Royals. He's basically exactly what the Dodgers need. Build a package around Maeda.

Why would they trade him? He is Mr Royal right now.
