Based on the WAR formula used by baseball-reference.com, Kershaw is only 2.6 WAR away from having the highest WAR in Dodgers history. Only Drysdale, Reese, and Snider are ahead of him right now, and if he stays he would likely hit that mark next year.

I like the idea of Puig and Harper on the same team trolling other clubs. For that reason, I hope they keep Puig AND sign Harper.

    dont kid yourself
    Rams coming on strong.
Lakers with LeBron and Magic and even Kobe coming to watch games...
Nobody cares enough about the other teams but the Lakers have been here and are booming while the Rams are eating all the greener grass on the other side.

May no one ever surpass the Duke.
Can't help wondering why Sandy isn't in there...

If it is against the law in your country to ask if Hitler was one of the greatest Germans/Austrians then more than likely he was.
Nobody did more to create the Roman Empire than Gaius but the brutes killed him anyway. And the brutes loved him personally.

    https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/LAD/index.shtml

If you scroll down, there is a section called "All time top-24 players", and it is sorted by highest WAR. WAR is a cumulative stat, so a player like Sandy who was at his peak for only 4-5 seasons, doesn't have a number that adds up as high as Kershaw who has been dominant for much longer. This WAR number also doesn't include seasons played for other franchises, so Kershaw has risen up the list just because he's been with us so long.

Disgusting and a recipe for continued failure. But nothing I didn't expect from those fucking losers. Imo, lends unquestionable validation to the Dave puppet theory. Friedman should change his name to Puppet Master. Douchebag.
After all the total FO bullshit and toxic spin mumbo jumbo, the most truthful and prophetic line: players make the analytics, not the other way round.

    Re: Hitler comparisons ...

They are often overstated, but in this instance, no one would think you are comparing Kershaw to Adolf. you are speaking to the quandary of qualifying greatness. It is an ongoing perplexity in war, politics, parenting, and pitching.

Sherlock Holmes is the quintessential flawed genius. Had he been a darker man, given to murder, theft, and evil deeds, he may well have been the perfect criminal. But he keeps his demons penned up tightly, allowing them to charge his hubris so that he can catch any criminal .... except Moriarty!

I can name a dozen great leaders who were swinish with women, or bigots on a globally corrosive level, or functional illiterates. Yet I can also name some who were great yet moral and decent. It's always a crap shoot, but when we become invested in a situation, whether it is the White House or the Dodger clubhouse, we WANT TO KNOW why things don't match up. It's a puzzlement.

As for the Hitler as great leader, excluding his monstrousness, he was a capable speaker and a dynamic motivator. But anyone paying attention could see his M.O. in his early tactics. For a ballplayer to be on his level, he'd have to be willing to be as ferocious as Drysdale or Gibson was on the hill, and as underhanded as the Borgias by poisoning the gatorade in the visitor's clubhouse, while also depicting his opponents as untermensch to the press again and again. Kersh is NOT that guy. Obviously.

We agree. Kershaw to Hitler was a leap of reason too far.. weird even... meanwhile from Trump to Hitler might be merely a short stroll down the block
