I kinda feel that NCAA douche in Indianapolis (Emmert?) has a hard on for Duke and Coach K....anything to rid him of the stench that is NCAA hypocrisy. Duke is beyond reproach in his mind, and damnit if K aint gonna break Wooden's record....anyway possible.

 

if there's one team i don't mind seeing Duke beat it's Wisconsin. i hate Wisconsin, bro. i hate Duke too, but i hate Wisconsin more..overhyped every year and NEVER win anything. at least Duke backs it up with a National Title every once in a while. Wisconsin..overrated as fuck in basketball and football every year.

i hate that Ryan thinks they can show up every year with 4 white guys and 1 token black guy and win..no ya can't. yeah, i said it...

USC football fans have been talking about the impact of scholarship limits for years. Sure, the Trojans still had talent. But they lacked depth. That meant the team had limited options on the field, could not keep fresh legs out there, and saw the team wear down in games and, even more noticeably, through the season. By November each year, the Trojans looked like a talented team that was running on fumes.

And now, of course, the sanctions are over. Depth is being restored. Schematic and play calling options are opening up again. The defensive is talking about playing man coverages, pressuring the opposing offense with safety, corner and linebacker blitzes, and more. Those were things USC couldn't do too much of in the heart of the sanction years, but they're back on the play cards now. And the USC defense already looks different, feels different, and has a swagger and flash that brings a smile to the faces of Trojan fans.

The sanctions are over. Starters will rotate out to catch their breathe and restore their legs. Some will even chat with a coach here and there about things like strategy. And while all that is going on, talented young players will build experience and ready themselves for more and more.

USC utilizes its freshmen. That was true under Pete Carroll by design and choice. That's not going to change. But what will change is the number of plays taken by starters. That number will decrease, and everyone on the team will be better for it. But that's not the best part.

What USC fans have been waiting for, the return of aggressive football, is about to occur. When that happens, there may not be any real "announcement," but Trojan fans will know that it means: TROJAN FOOTBALL, REAL TROJAN FOOTBALL, IS BACK.

Not saying it's a bad thing by any means. It's like bizzarro world.

 

one team that's not afraid of the Spurs is Memphis..the Grizz handled SA in 2011 and Gasol and Conley have only gotten better since then. the way things stand right now, the Grizz and Spurs would meet in the 2nd round. Spurs will almost certainly handle the Rockets.
