Now that Puig is called up it's Game Over for the rest of the league. Puig is fresher than a peppermint. Puig went from being oppressed in Cuba to being on Top of the world.
Calling it desperation is a bit of a stretch. If Puig clearly wasn't ready for the Majors, yeah... but in ST he showed the talent (at least) to make 2/3 of all clubs on Opening Day. It's actually amazing that we haven't had an injury to one of our 3 starting OFers until now - and Puig was always right on their heals. Finally something to look forward to.

some superman fantasies simmer just below the surface... My fear is that DBB will invent some new "baseball reason" to bench him, platoon him, bat him 8th or whatever so as to reduce his impact I'd put him in the #4 slot and tell him to earn his $42M... and then stand back and let the kid get to work Oh and I'd also get him a fucking chauffeur to keep him away from the LA freeway madness.
I'm in all the way: I picked him up a day before the Crawford injury thinking he would still get called up on Monday regardless. I think he will probably K a ton, but as long as he can show up with his power and put some bats on the ball it should be a positive experience. I really hope being called up to the bigs will provide some sort of maturation for Puig. Surely the club can show him whatsup. He's no longer a big fish in a small pond, at the moment.
