    Joc is better than Crawford.

    Better fielder... maybe
Better thrower... hands down since Carl throws like a little girl
Better potential upside... we'll agree here too
Better runner... Carl still has some wheels and, while he's aged, he did steal over 50 bases a half dozen times.. though none recently. Joc has never stolen 40.

Better hitter? Not yet. Carl has hit over .300 five times in his MLB career and holds a .292 lifetime BA. Not so shabby.

Since Joc's young we don't know if he can hit MLB pitchers at a .300 clip or not. He only hit AA pitchers at a .278 clip and led the team in K's with 114!!, twice as many K's as any other AA teammate.

Good potential but he's not going to push Carl out too soon without cleaning up his plate performance

Carl Crawford may be better than Joc Pederson, but using career numbers for a player who obviously is no longer the player he was in his prime is ridiculous. Pujols is better than Miggy using career numbers.

Opening day perhaps? I don't see 4 healthy outfielders or anyone willing to trade for anyone but puig who I would assume is virtually untouchable. The others, are currently untradable.

Of course it is ridiculous to use Carl's career numbers to compare a kid with NO MLB stats and nothing but AA .270 and lots of K's to look at...

    Why should I use data?

OK we'll split that hair and use last years data and not Carl's career data.

    That's also ridiculous.

To compare a sissy armed veteran player who 'used' to be one of the MLB's more coveted outfielders just a year or three ago.

Of course nearly everything written on this or any other sports fan frothing site is ridiculous.

    this whole conversation is ridiculous.

as is any reply to you not in jest...

The Chinchilla claims he's "ready to go".

"In his minor-league spring training games, Kemp batted .113 with a home run and nine strikeouts in 53 at-bats"

    Oh boy. I can't wait.

    Baxter is #5.

    Chinchilla is #6
6.5 if you count Shawn Figgins.

Hate is a strong word. I don't hate Matt Kemp.

What I hate is are the Gnats, Cindy Crosby, Shebron James and ignorant presumptions.

As I have said many time before. I hope that soft, mental midget proves me wrong.

If Kemp comes back and Puig keeps looking lost at the plate, then the 4 OFer "problem" will have an obvious solution. Sending Puig back to the minors to work on things shouldn't be out of the question.

Thing is it might take a while for Kemp to even be average after not having any time to really practice. So he'll be a little slow out of the gate.

And Koufax (who I assume blazer is talking to) will call for his head. Although he'd call for his head regardless.
