I believe it's a worse contract than Crawford's and that is saying a shit load. At least at the time that Crawford signed the deal he was much better and healthier than Ellsbury is currently. Besides Ellsbury's PED season a few years ago, he's had like 1 really good year.
I would rather go Guerrero ad 2B, Hanley at SS and someone to hold the door for Seager for 2 years...

Mariners may regret the deal maybe in year 6 of the deal, but i understand why they're desperate and why they have to do this...they just paid a major sum to Felix...they gotta make good on that otherwise it's a waste. well, that and their TV deal is helping finance these contracts, so they're obligated to put an entertaining team on the field for TV purposes...that kind of stuff goes above the owners and comes from their investors. it's a business. it's never as cut and dry as people wanna make it. i guarantee SEA's investors told ownership to stay as far ahead of the Yankees as you have to...we gave you the money to appease the fanbase/new network...just get him.

It's the 1st time I really thought about it Irish so I was taken aback a bit, I guess mainly because Stephen A. sometimes talks too much.
Very true but I would have bet if they went to Cano and upped there offer to 200 that he would have taken a hometown discount (relatively of course). IMO as long as they went above Ellsbury that would have appeased him and he would have stayed. All conjecture of course.
So Cano signing with the Mariners buoys Markie's stock slightly... Or are we really going hard with the Cuban kid?
Lotta talk about what the M's would add to cano. Hart and Morrison are about 4th tier of the talk. Cano should have seen who he's gonna play with first.
