Not a song ... but me showing off my sister-in-law ... she's a quality bassist. She also hates my guts because she considers me a nazi.

But she's kind & generous to my kids & respects my wife in our home.

Of late, she's been touring as Chappell Roan's bass player ...

sounds like she has good taste
we would probably have a lot in common
kind, generous, respectful of minorities and a musician... what a gal!
too bad she associates herself with the common lettered people of low culture
it is unfortunate that she prefers the clanging consonants to the smooth sounds of gods holy vowels
most nazis would have reported her to the authorities by now but not you
you look up and pray to the peaceful eastern name of the kingdom of IAOUE
in order to drown away the dissonant western din of the empire of LGBTQR
you are not one of those evil nazis
you one of the good ones

Rare footage of the Yardbirds featuring Beck and Page together covering a Velvet Underground classic.

when i was a boy in the early 80s i wanted to listen to led zeppelin after hearing it at a cousins house
but mom said no that music is satanic
so i asked to borrow a yardbirds album
she was fine because it wasnt evil satanic music
the music was like a year apart and and they even shared a song
but she was born oct of 1950 and the only reason she was ok with the yardbirds is that mod music still sounded pop enough for her ears
it had enough of that saccharine to make anything less than sweet go down smooth

what made music satanic was that it was based on stuff considered negative or weak to her generation
she grew up in a post gothic world
anything gothic is satanic or dark or evil or lost or for the weak/losers
and this goes back who knows to when
they try to claim that blacks brought a detuned sound with them when they were cargo in ships
but those spanish/portugese boats were crewed by goths from the shores of western europe who had thicker and closer roots to viking and gothic culture than any englishman today
they faced troubles in the ocean too and when the waves made the boats rock and roll it wasnt just the cargo who were praying singing songs of faith and devotion for salvation and hope

which is why i think that after every 4 years we have a shift in the current style of music
and as the first one goes into its 8th year it starts to become a parody of itself
then somewhere after that the sounds become detuned and the music starts going down in vibe
the pop bubble burts and the music goes dark as it begins its slow death spiral
where it stays down for a while
only to spring right back up again with some new bubbly pop music about how the waves take you from to and fro and up and down
but to always get up and never stay down

its a whole greek epic of olympic proportions but whose got the time for alladata
suffice it to say that there are always people grounded on earth while others prefer what reinforces utopia
and what reinforces utopia/fantasy dominates the mainstream completely for at least 2/3 of the time
until its time for some more gothic dark age shit to bring pop back to the roots it always wants to pretend to forget

was never a huge Dead fan but i knew a lot of Deadheads from high school on
attorney took me to see Furthur one year and was truly blown away at the bass style of Phil Lesh
glad i had the chance to see him play live cause he was really great especially when they got rolling in full jam RIP

some reason this old Genesis song popped up and i find myself listening to it almost every day
first time i heard it was my first gf that i lived with who loved them
i was turning her on to Bowie, Stones and Steely dan and she was playing the Genesis, Supertramp, Alan Parsons stuff
so its a fond memory but a crazy song from Lamb lies down on Broadway which is a fairy tale about a NY kid and this strange adventure
have heard the band try to give an idea of what its about but it seems they get confused
anyway its beautiful to me and the lyrics can be interpreted in all sorts of crazy ways
i like the way Phil sings it but this is the first version i ever heard
so its the one i love the best
and remember huh?, you gotta get in to get out...

This whole album is pure gold. I've played it at home while I'm prepping a big family dinner & I catch my four yr old grooving to it. She hears In The Cage & starts spinning in circles like some hippie chick at a Dead show.

I blame the Mods. They're in it with Google & Big Pharma.

    We will rose up!

    Viva Simon Bolivar!

Look what the cure did this weekend.
    https://www.youtube.com/live/_aWDlaxvEZo

I remember going to a cure show and thinking that they were probably gonna suck since they were all old and fat and balding and probably had health issues that prevented them fro.... but before i could continue thinking those thoughts they started playing and they sounded like the cure

that was over 20 years ago
they still sound like the cure
